Feels pretty nice, good length and nice barrel tip. It's very lightweight compared to other extended reach sticks. However this resulted in it snapping clean in half after 15 hours of playing max.

They broke on me surprisingly quickly. Honestly, if your a hard-hitting drummer I wouldn't recommend, but if you looking for a 5A type stick that's a little thicker, by all means go ahead, just expect the durability to be the same as any other stick. Really nice feeling sticks.

Not sure why 5a is in its description. It’s a 2. Haven’t played 2’s since I starting playing (30yrs ago). Kinda looking forward to it.

After trying multiple different designs and weights of sticks this is the one I've landed on as my daily pair. The weight and balance is perfect for me and I feel like I get better rebound than any other stick I've tried.

I used to own the nylon pair of Xtreme Designs but these add more finesse around the kit. Quiet when you need them quiet and loud when you need them loud. Ghost notes and buzz rolls are awesome. Cymbal articulation is very defined. Especially on the ride cymbal. Great sticks by far. These suckers can take a beating too!!

I had been using the Fusion nylon tip sticks for a long time primarily because I had been a poor college student at the time and wanted my sticks to last as long as possible. Now, many years later, I was looking to try something different after getting back in to playing. I tried another wood tipped Vater stick that was not as responsive as I would have liked. I actually found they were uncomfortable to use after playing for a bit. So, I decided to give these a try. Right out of the box I was impressed with the performance. These were much more responsive than the other sticks. I tend to play a variety of music styles and I find these give me the versatility in volume and feel that I needed. As far as durability, the sticks lasted quite a while before a piece of one of the tips finally broke off. This was with fairly regular daily practice use and a few performances. I will definitely be considering these again.

To be concise, I've found my new go-to stick. If I am to elaborate...I've been a VicFirth guy my whole life, ever since starting in fourth grade (I'm a senior in college at the moment). I perform as part of a jazz band that also plays rock, funk, and latin style music, and these sticks are plenty versatile for all of those styles. These sticks are actually quite similar to the VicFirth Extreme 5B sticks. The "extreme" part gives it a little bit more length (useful for big hands). But, a notable difference is the tip. These sticks have barrel-ended tips that give a much more responsive and clean sound off the ride with the added benefit of being more resistant to chipping.

I was a tried and true Vic Firth fan the last 12 years my my music career. I bought these just to try something different, and am I amazed and happy with my purchase. They rebound extremely well, are beefy and have a crisp tick when you hit the ride with he tip. Don’t listen to these other low ratings, they are from amateurs who do t know how to use their sticks. Try them for yourself, they are my new go to sticks.

they are just my favorite stick of all time. And I've tried all the other brands. I can thrash hard (Testament) and heavy or play a light country swing. These sticks have always played the way I need them too. I wear them out before they break. I've broken maybe a pair in the last handful of years. I'll wear out the tip and the neck and end up discarding them. very little breakage, for me any way. and my playing runs the gamut. very loud and fast to soft and slow.

These are my favourite sticks ever. I am pretty heavy handed, so I need something fairly thick and durable that I canput some weight behind. These puppies fit the bill marvelously.I have tried Zildjian (Travis Barker model....I break them) and Vic Firth (5B...I break them too, just not as quickly). I was looking for a new brand and I know Vater are trusted brand, I now know why.If you are a rock drummer who keeps breaking sticks give these a bash...or your drum kit a bash with them....however you do things.Service and delivery were great, came in a MASSIVE box though.
