These gaiters also protect your feet and lower legs from biting bugs, nettles, and thorns. Their speed lace hooks help you to get them on and off quickly. Do not waste you time or money on this item. Poor functionality, low military grade item. Difficult to lace up. Binding clips for under boot and at the top strap are difficult to secure. Metal strap cap ( to ease strap into buckle) pulled off. Now it is impossible to feed strap through the tight space.Would not recommend this to anyone.

Prior to purchasing these, after each day of hiking in the high desert I would need to pull sagebrush thorns out of my socks and boots (and ankles!). Now that I wear these I no longer have to. Not sure how they would fare with a rattlesnake bite but got to be better than Costco socks. Be aware that there are no included instructions on how to lace them up so you are on your own.

I’m in some clunky size 10 boots and the size 2 seem to fit well, but if you got chicken legs like me the tops just barely tighten enough. There may be some minor oxidation where the metal clasps were up against leather while in long storage but it’s to be expected and can be cleaned, overall very satisfied.
