The mold is different from the ones ordered in the past. I’ll start looking for another model.

First this skull is exactly how it is described. Excellent quality even if it was twice the price.Second, this is exactly what I was looking for. We had our counters replaced and when that was done we placed this in the corner as seen in the picture. But under the countertop. (We have a space in our cabinets that is not accessible unless the whole counter is removed between the cabinets and the oven.) I wish I could see it in the future when the next owner of the house replaces the counters.

I wanted a nice skull with a movable jaw for a Halloween prop, and this one looked like a good candidate, so I bought it. I had no Idea that it was so realistic. The documentation was for teaching medical students, so if that's what you're looking for, this is it. It's heavy, and very solid. It's way more "real" that what I wanted, but I'm pleasantly surprised. It's a great skull!!

After purchasing a number of "medical model" skulls for various film projects, I was always disappointed by something. Prior to this purchase, I bought a similar item but the dome portion did not match the rest of the skull, leaving a noticeable seam. This item has the same feature (removable dome) but the two parts still look like they belong to the same skull. Like other models I have seen, this skull uses a post/hole system to locate the dome on the top of the skull. However, unlike other models, instead of an external hardware latch to secure the two pieces, this model features internal magnets. They work great, easily keeping the dome in place even if the skull is upside down. The other part of this skull is the jaw. It has no removable teeth, as some models do, and is attached by a single spring inside the jaws. It also features a set of rubbery plastic sockets to facilitate the jaw motion. Now, other reviews mentioned that the spring assembly was flimsy and unreliable, which I found to be true. The screws easily pulled out of the skull, but that could be repaired pretty easily. The rubbery sockets for the jaw aren't difficult to remove either. Once removed, the jaw easily seats into the skull for display purposes, although it will require some sort of attachment if you intend to move it around at all.I must say, this is the best realistic human skull model I have found. The plastic is a bit shiny, which is why I removed all the hardware and painted them with flat finish paints to give a more realistic "bone" look. I used painter's tape to cover the teeth and preserve the shine on those, but they will require a separate paint job to get the look I'm going for. However, I'm very satisfied with this product, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good "base skull" for a prop or set dressing item.

The VAL207-A skull is beautifully made. It is a nice weight and appears to be very well made. I teach sculpture at a university and am using it to help my students understand the anatomy of the head. It appears to be very accurate in detail and size. I would certainly buy again.By the way, I also ordered the VAL221numbered skull and it was exactly the same skull with the addition of the hand written numbers and accompanying identification list. Surprisingly it was cheaper than this one. All I can imagine is that there is a higher demand for a plain white skull, perhaps for decorative purposes.

Not the best skull replica I own. I do like the small magnets set inside the skull cavity as opposed to the old latch style medical skulls. Two of the keys ( the little knobs that align with the holes on the opposite side of the skull cap when you put it together) were broken straight out ofthe carton. Not the end of the world, but glueing them back on and getting them to line up correctly again is not gonna happen. Overall decent replica, did seem wider on the cheekbone areas than it should be.
