I firmly believe that these can extend the time until you will experience stick drift, if not eradicate it completely. The stock stick on a 360 controller will shave off after very little use. This is when the stick rubs against the outer ring surrounding the stick. This leaves a mess of powder that gets stuck in the inner workings of the sticks and creates the stick drift. These prevent that by not turning into powder after use.

The right analog stick of my old Mad Catz X360 gamepad broke, so I bought this item to try and repair the pad. After watching a youtube video, installation was simple and easy (though I had to re-open the controller a couple times to finagle all the bits into _just_ the right place).The gamepad works like new, now, and probably this thumbstick - seeing as it's metal, not plastic - will outlast the rest of it.

The listing falsely advertises this being a listing for two "thumbsticks" not one thumbstick . It also claims to be for the xbox 360 , This is false these are for the ps4 and xbox one they are smaller then xbox 360 thumbsticks. and once again , you will only be sent ONE.Pros : the color is spot on and as far as I can tell it isn't easy to scratch or prone to rub off right away.Now if only people could count.

I was wary when I ordered these sticks as I saw people in these reviews talking about the diameter of the shaft being larger, and reviews elsewhere saying the thumbsticks sat too close to the logic board in the controller, limiting the throw of the thumbstick.The thickness of the shaft is indeed thicker, which does physically restrict the throw, but a quick test in some joystick testing software in linux showed this did not have any adverse effect. Left thumbstick was this aluminum unit, and the right thumbstick was the OEM plastic in my Afterglow wired 360 controller, and at full-lock to the top-left, they both showed the exact same result. Assuming the in-game deadzones are anything like this, there should be 0 issues. Also, my thumbsticks do not appear to sit any closer to the board than the originals do, and the holes the analog stick shafts slide into appear to be just as deep; in fact, the bowl at the bottom of the thumbsticks appears to be shorter (and the opening of smaller diameter) than that of the original, meaning that it actually sits further away, and could not be responsible for limiting the throw of the thumbsticks.I haven't play tested this yet, but wanted to post a quick review after doing an initial software test of these sticks. Had the results panned out differently, I was considering sanding the thumbstick openings wider, but I now believe this to be entirely unnecessary. Now I just need to clean off all the controller parts of years of human slime before I can reassemble and enjoy these new sticks!

I purchased these to use in an original XBOX Controller S which had the rubber beginning to break down and detach from the thumbstick. These were a perfect drop-in replacement and make the controller feel much more modern. The sticks stay cool longer, do not slip, and are comfortable for hours of use.

It looks and feels amazing, but that's it. It doesn't do what I want a control stick to do, which is follow where I push it. It constantly slips due to lacking a knurl on its face and the shaft is wider than a standard control stick which limits your range of motion and negatively affects gameplay. Sure they will last longer, but the fact that they lack a texture on their face makes them more frustrating than helpful. Not a bad product by any means, but I prefer the grip offered by the rubber.

I wish the inner part of the thumb pad had some texture on it, but overall I'm really happy. Great fitment and they look great too.

Do not fit my 3rd party controller, the hole that fits onto the stick didn't fit at all, super bummed because these things looked great, so I'll have to use these on a different controller and hope for the best
