I really can’t say too many good things about his knife. I simply love it. It and the Vosteed Raccoon with the top-liner lock are two of my current favorite knives. The push button top liner lock functions much as Spyderco’s compression lock for which the patent has expired. It’s a very strong lock with a VERY smooth operation. Seriously, if you are used to standard plunge lock button locks, this is going to be a revelation for you.I have this knife in brown micarta with a satin blade and green micarta with a stonewashed blade. They are both well done, and very attractive knives. They’ve all arrived quite sharp out of the box as well, and I like the choice of 14C28N steel. It takes a very fine, mirror polished edge and has good toughness and rust resistance while still holding the edge reasonably well. This knife also has jimping everywhere, including on top of the blade in two different places. One for your thumb, and the other for the forefinger depending on how you are gripping it. The blade shape is a good one, a drop point with leaf influences. Lots of belly, and a nice finger choil. The only problem with this knife so far is availability. It has been difficult to lay hands on them. I REALLY want a blue one but haven’t been able to catch one yet.

I can't say enough good things about this knife. The build quality is excellent everything came tight and designed to prioritize strength ergonomics and easof use . The Top liner lock gives you the nest of both worlds with the fidget factor and ease of opening of a button lock combined with the strentgh of a liner lock. The blade shape is great for tackling all everyday task.rhe full flat grind gives the blade strength while making the blade extra slicey. The large finger flicking hole is flawlessly placed for ease of opening. Good old 14c28n is used to provide strength stain resistance and edge stability!! Easily on of My favorite edc steel ever! The dark stained micarta is beautiful especially with the blue anodized pivot collar and lanyard hole complimenting each other. There is tons of jimping drawning both the blade and handle alike to provide comfort stability grip and it really look nice the way they did it . I would highly recommend this knife to any and everyone wanting both high quality and value wrapped into a epic package.

Great EDC knife!Excellent size and easy to deploy and top liner button lock is excellent at this price point.Deep carry wire pocket clip has great retention. Thin blade stock, making it very slicey and easy to sharpen.

There is a lot to like about this knife: Excellent design, solid finger-safe locking mechanism, good craftsmanship and one of the best features: no thumb studs that can get snagged in your pants!. However, I'm knocking a couple stars because the micarta has no grip at all. It' super slippery, it almost feels "polished" (perhaps I got a bad one?).I never thought this would be so important, but it really affects handling. So close from being a perfect EDC knife.

This one is a dandy and is actually as described by Vosteen.I give it 4 instead of 5 since it seemed a circus act to backorder it and it (as well as many of their designs) was never in stock with this color (blue). But I had to try one- It is great if you can tolerate if and when their new designs are ever in stock.......

The execution of this knife is almost perfect. I only wish the jumping was a little sharper. Aside from that this is a perfect daily carrier especially if you like a knife with belly. It reminds me a lot of the Spyderco Delica 4 just in terms of carry ability and usefulness. But you get enhancements like ball bearings in the pivot.I like it better than Vosteed’s Raccoon, which has become basically synonymous with the brand. The porcupine I think is deserving of just as much, if not more attention since it seems more refined ergonomically (at least to me). I would love to see iterations with steel upgrades like 154cm, or even a D2 version for hunting where a little more edge retention is a benefit over the easy sharpening of 14c28n in my experience. D2 and 154cm really hit the sweet spot for cost, edge retention, and ease of sharpening, for hunting, but 14c28n being so easy to maintain and taking a razor sharp edge is an advantage for an edc knife. With all that belly, this knife would be a perfect pocket skinner too.VG10 (properly heat treated) would be another great option for a bit more edge retention without hiking up the price too much.I could see myself owning several different versions of this knife if Vosteed offeeed more options just besides color variations.

Lots of jimping all over the Vosteed Porcupine. Very well made knife. Easy to open with button lock or thumb holes. Nice wire pocket clip that's reversible. Deep belly blade. Good G-10 scales. Sharp out of the box. It's my favorite EDC knife now. Jimping everywhere on the whole knife. Nice finger choil too. There's nothing I don't like about this knife. Great value for what you get. Weight is just right. It's a nice looking knife too.

This is my first Vosteed. I immediately loved the look of this one. Having received it, I am very impressed. Build quality is solid, button lock engages properly and with sufficient tension. Out of the box it's hair popping sharp. Great size, not too bulky and there's jimping everywhere. Only minor thing is the black scales were smooth and a little grayed, which can happen over time, just didn't expect it out of the box. This can be fixed with a titch of mineral oil or wd40 to bring the color back. I would buy another Vosteed.
