This is a review for VViViD Magnetic Pick-Up Tool with 5lbs Lifting Capacity - Magnet Flexible Steel Shaft of 23”.I ordered this because I always dropping nuts and bolts into the most inconvenient places. Though nothing so far as reached the weight that this claims to handle. I can see maybe that the magnetism could potential help dislodge those that have gotten hung up.The tool seems well built and the magnetic strength seems strong, but I have found out that it does not extend very far It was able to hold 1 3-pound hammer I had with no issue but didn’t maintain a strong hold on a 4-pound metal object. It easily was pulled free from it with little effort.All I can say id buyer beware. It is nice to have but not if you need it for very heavy objects.

This is a nice tool for picking up dropped screws and nuts. It holds its shape well when positioned, and the handle is comfortable.The claim of it having 5 pounds of pulling force is overstated. I tried to pick up a 5 pound steel barbell weight. It wouldn't lift one edge up off the ground more than an inch before letting go. Even with perfect distribution under the magnet and a direct contact spot on pure iron, I'd say the claim is puffery. I have a fish scale, but it's not worth trying that. Just know that it is great at picking up screws and if you're lucky it might pick up a medium sized tape measure by the belt clip.

This arrived from the vendor shrink wrap sealed then with the top clamshell sealed on a retail display hang up.I have several like this but not as nicely made. This one also has the feature of being able to pick up heavier metal objects.You do need to remember to remove the red cover from the tip before trying to use the tool, it can be tight to get off the first time.During tests, it would lift a 5 ounce set of keys, & I also tried a 3 ounce pair of scissors, which also was easy for the tool to latch on & retrieve without them falling.It could pick up paper clips & things like loose nails extremely easily, in fact a dozen or more paper clips or small nails if in proximity to one another.A useful tool that looks like it could last a long time with just normal care.

The construction seems solid and of good quality. The magnet works well, though I doubt it could hold a full 5 pounds. I'm not sure if I have an exact 5lb iron weight, but I included some pictures:1) 4 large lag screws and washers. It couldn't hold any more than this before they fell off, presumably because there wasn't enough connection between the magnet and the 5 screw tip.2) One quick-link. I presume this may be partially stainless steel or galvanized or zinc-coated or something because this weighed a few ounces but the magnet could barely hold onto it.3) A 2# sledgehammer which all told weighs a bit under 3lbs. The Pick-Up Tool could carefully, slowly lift it up and off the bench, but any sort of wiggling would drop it.I think maybe if you have a 5lb pure ferrous item or maybe something that was a bit magnetized itself, you could lift it. But it seems to do fine with a few screws, nails, washers, etc. But it does twist into shape well so you can probably snake it into weird spaces if you need to, and that's probably the trickiest job I'm going to demand of it.

Unlike the other magnetic tool I have which as a stiff shaft, this flexible version allows the magnetic head to get into smaller spaces. It's stiff enough to retain a shape and the magnet is claimed to lift 5 pounds. Large, comfortable handle
