Manifold absolute pressure sensors measure manifold pressures through changing voltage and sends this information to the onboard computer. The computer uses this and other inputs to calculate the correct amount of fuel delivered. Symptoms of failure include poor starting, detonation, a check engine light, and or no start conditions. Sensors are non-serviceable and therefore must be replaced when non-functional.

The pigtail provided with this MAP sensor will NOT plug into the sensor. The molded slots in the pigtail do NOT correspond with the blocks in the sensor thus preventing the pigtail from sliding into the sensor. More Chinese junk!! It's a shame that the all mighty dollar has vitually stopped manufacturing in the USA.
