This is a good axe for beginners as well as league players. For the price you get an axe just as good as the higher end axes, maybe just a quarter pound heavier. The 17+ inch handle works for two handed throwing, or you can cut it down shorter of course.

This is the 2nd axe I have gotten from watl. For $50 I think it is the best value. It is just as good as my corporal. Me and my family enjoy throwing these at my home made target at family gatherings and these from Watl hold up well and are easier to throw than anything else we have tried. Some reviews have complained about the wood handle breaking. I have not had any issues with the handles. I do throw at a target that is in grass from normal distances.

I've got 4 WATL axes and they all throw nicely.I tried the most expensive non WATL axes and could only get them to stick 1 out of 20 throws. I can get this to stick 19/20 times.

Only complaint I have is the handle is a little long. Other than that the bounce is great. Sharpness is great and the head width is just perfect. Can hit smaller targets with it consistently and throws consistently every time

I would not recommend a wood handle for a first axe, I started with the WATL Kill Shot (Fiberglas handle) and decided to try wood . It’s a very nice throwing hatchet
