I had a leaky 30 year old valve that looked very similar. I watched a few youtube videos on replacing this valve. Ordered this and it fit perfectly. As long as the threaded part of the original valve is in good shape, this goes on easily and no more leaks.Be careful removing the screws at the top of the valve because you need to o-ring type washers and they can fall out when taking the new valve apart.

I contacted a plumber who said he would have to cut into the wall. So I bought this replacement washing machine shut off valve. It fit perfectly. As mentioned before: 1) You will need thicker o-rings to use this valve over your existing stems. Get #12 size o-rings 13/16 OD x5/8 ID x 3/32. 2) The flathead screws at the top are a beast to get off. I solved it easily by using a socket wrench with a flat head screw driver bit which gave me the leaverage needed and plenty of room to work. I did not need to cut the wall and will not use that plumber again!

Works well. I used this part to replace my existing shut off valve which was an Oatey from the 1980s. This one seemed to match and fit like a glove. I have copper pipes and wanted to avoid cutting/soldering, so I just unscrewed the top and removed the screw in back on the existing fitting. Fit great, but I needed to buy thicker o-rings which was mentioned in another review. $2 and a trip to Home Depot later, worked like a charm. No leaks and more importantly no soldering. Make sure to have extra o-rings on hand.

I tried another shutoff valve, but that valve had brackets at the bottom that conflicted with the nut on the ends of both inlet pipes. This shutoff valve worked perfectly. I did purchase the 200 assorted plumbing o-rings kit on Amazon that were recommended in another review. The #12 o-rings fit perfectly. Our washing machine operators are also very pleased. The earlier commenters were very helpful.

After finding that the present Watts valve that has been in there for 18 years started to leak, I called a plumber who advised it would be min 350.00 to come and repair. He was very busy and could not come for a week , but added that I could easily change it myself. I researched online and found that you can easily replace just the valve by shutting water, removing the 2 front screws and the value comes right off. Then remove the washers, replace them with the new washers and screw back on the new valve. Took 15 minutes and was surprisingly simple. Solid brass, exact replacement, very happy with product.

i watched a few You Tube videos on how to replace these. Most of these valves are interchangeable. I ordered this one and it fit perfect. So you remove the 2 big screws and only replace the part with the shut off and hose connections using the new washers. Turn off the water to this connection or whole house. Turn this valve to the Off position . Let the hoses drain out into a bucket. Label (Hot/Cold) and Remove the hoses. Then you remove the 2 big screws on the existing one, remove it and washers. Attach new washers and use 2 new screws to attach and tighten. Turn the new valve to the Off position and reconnect the hoses. Turn the water supply back on slowly. Check the valve to be sure there are no leaks. If it looks good, open the valve slowly to allow water back to the washing machine.

Purchased to replace my 20/30yr old Oatley that was leaking. Got the thicker 3/32” extra gaskets at Cdn.Tire - as per what the other reviewers mentioned to do for the old units. Fit perfectly, done in less than 10mins. No more leaking. Great product for my use.

is any plumbing project easy? the main fixture is very good quality, nice & heavy, but the rubber washers at the base of each post did not seal properly no matter how tight i made it. tried plumbers grease also on the washers to no avail. they are thinner than what i usually see on good pieces. so had to switch out rubber washers for heavier washers. now works fine. no leaks. if i would not have had to change out those washers i would give 5star rating.

This is exactly the valve system for our Washing Machine that was in installed when we had the house built in 1992.It is almost impossible to find a dual valve unit locally. This one was built in Peoria, AZ and took just over a week to arrive. Now installed it works perfectly.

Having a hose burst while the washing machine is off and unattended is a risk. Being able to simply shut off the water supply via one handle is an excellent way of mitigating this risk. The only drawback is the human one which is that the user needs to remember to turn if off after the wash is done. I would have given a 5th star if there was something more visible to remind the user to turn it off after use.
