I stared using stainless cable for railing decades ago when I had to buy everything from a boat repair and building outlets at a very high cost. I replaced my upper deck and needed to redo the hardware. These, by comparison are unbelievably inexpensive but are great quality, look good and were easy to use. I am very pleased.

Installation was easy with the crimp tool. Mounting mechanism wasn’t quite as robust as other cast designs I’ve installed, but the price was quite a bit less too. I’ve recommended this hardware to friends, and I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again. Beware that my experience with (2) separate purchases of “stainless” cable on Amazon were not in fact stainless!! I had to source that product of my project locally.

I believe the instructions indicate that after you have the adjusting end crimped you should measure to the hinge of the fixed (non-adjusting) end as your cut point.Don't.The barrel of the fixed non-adjusting end is only approx 1.5" deep. If you measure to the hinge you'll add an (unnecessary) extra .5" to the length.Also, make sure the adjustable fastener end is adjusted OUT nearly the full length (just over 1.5") to allow for plenty of tightening room after crimping and you're ready to tighten up the cable.
