The outer layer of PerfeSafe gloves is made of heat-resistant and flame-retardant two-layer leather. The interior consists of a comfortable and breathable sponge. These gloves are all sewn with Kevlar stitching. They can provide very high thermal protection up to 932°F (500°C). 14 inches gloves protect your hands and forearms from heat hazards!

Thick leather, which I was happy with as I use them to put firewood in my woodstove. Great protection for my arms from the top of the stove, plus protect my hands. Only drawback I have found is the lining draws up in fingertips if you lay on woodstove to long. Live and learn, they still do a great job!

I don't weld or handle smoldering wood in a grill, but I do have several Rosy Glow Barberry bushes that need annual pruning, and they are very thorny. I have an old pair of leather work gloves with no lining that the Barberry thorns frequently poke through. These 14 inch PerfeSafe Welding Gloves are amazing! I can grab a barberry branch, squeeze it tight, and not one thorn pokes through. If you have to handle thorny, prickly plants, I highly recommend these gloves.

These are a great value for the price. They do have a bit of a "beefy/gamey" odor but that will air out with use. I am especially impressed with how thick the leather is for the price. Really pleased.
