I ordered this keyless chuck at the same time I ordered a Wen 4212T drill press (DP). It works fine with the arbor the DP comes with. Using a 6 inch blank drill stock, I checked the runout on this setup. It shows 0.001” near the top of the drill stock (just below the chuck), and about 0.0025” at the bottom of the drill stock. Very pleased with it. Very nice not to have to use a key to install or remove bits.

Ive been using this keyless chuck in my WEN 10 inch drill press and it works well no issues. I am a hobbyist dont do wood working or metal for a living. if I did I would buy a JET drill press and a high end chuck with no run out.I have a starrett and a snapon run out gauge that I did check the run out on both the spindle of the press and the chuck. it does vary between .0004 and sometimes when turning by hand binks to .0005 of a inch. so this should tell you everything you need to know.

Bought this to replace the OEM on my Wen 4214t drill press and am not disappointed. A new arbor adapter was needed, but that's not a difficult thing to figure out. Tightens well with a simple twist and releases almost as easily. So far, works great

Having run it on my benchtop 10" hobbyist Ryobi drill press, I found it wobble free and accurate right out of the box at well below the cost of similar chucks from other sources..

About 25% of the time it flings the smallest drill bits across the room when the drill press spins down. An easy fix is to also buy a chuck wrench (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LTHJEH2?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1). The wrench allows you to tighten the chuck more than you can with just your hands. The wrench is much easier to use than your old school geared chuck keys. This chuck runs true and concentric (by drill press standards) but it is larger than the traditional keyed chuck.

I am so disapointed. Why do they make this junk? It certainly doesn't work well in my drillpress. To start with, it is difficult or impossible to adequately tighten this overly-massive chunk of chuck with one's bare hands. Bits loosen and fall out unless I use a large wrench or pliers or insert a bar to tighten it. Even more frustrating, in a drill press it is difficult to see the chuck jaws becasue they are recessed. Unless the bit somehow is inserted exactly centered, it will go in wrong, alongside the jaws in large spaces. Just look at the picture of this chuck and you can see what I am talking about. I should never have bought it and I wish I had returned it right away. I plan to find a proper, useful one, one that does not make my work harder. This chuck , if it can be tightened enough, might be ok on a lathe, but since I don't have one it's going in the metal scrap pile.

After a few years, I got tired of tightening my keyed chuck on my WEN drill press and wanted to upgrade to their better product. When the new chuck was first installed, I used a rubber mallet to secure it... I found that this did not work well, and reverted to a steel hammer with cardboard as a protector to make it permanent. Finally got that taken care of, but...After it was attached, I found the chuck difficult to tighten. It keeps loosening seconds after drilling begins. I have to crank it super hard to make it work as expected.Unfortunately, even with the bit fully secured in place using a wrench, the drill bit has a slight wobble at the tip which is very frustrating. This is despite the fact that the bits are all new Ryobi bits and have a hex base for a more solid attachment. With all of this, I may just switch back to the manual chuck that came with the WEN, and not have to deal with any of this.

This massive keyless chuck looked pretty awesome indeed. I took it out and it unscrewed 'ok', but it did have very tiny steel dust in the oil inside of it. So I flushed it out with brake cleanz and oiled it really good. It unscrews alot better now. Not sure what my old tiny chuck had for run-out, but the tapered arbor of my drill press had a run out of 0.0003" or so.(quarter thou) This new chuck has 0.005" of run-out (5 thou). It's almost acceptable for my hobbie messing around. The deal breaker is that the threads this thing incorporates is waaay to coarse. It should be more of a fine thread. I tried Carbide end mills, and regular drills in it, and no matter how tite I crank it down by hand, the drills fall out within a couple of seconds of drilling. Not bloody acceptable! I took it out and is going to be returned. Waste of time.

Arrived quicker than specified, well-packed and in good shape. Fitted straight onto my drill press and works as it should. Much better and quicker to use than the small keyed chuck that came with the drill press
