I have been using this for running sailboat races. It keeps me informed of wind velocity through out the entire race.

This unit was a bit confusing for my husband and he also said that it hardly registered the wind.

Hardest thing to do was insert the battery. Pay attention to reviews with the pictures of where to have it and then pry the cover off with the tip of a strong knife. The position is NOT fully twisted 1/4 turn, more like 1/8 of a turn.

Battery door has closed dot, but no information on where battery door arrow should be placed to open. No info in attached photocopied data sheet. This site says 1/4 turn means 90 degrees, which is not the case.I'd suggest selling device without battery door closed or add an appropriate dot with finger nail polish for users.Great product once you get battery door open, but I had to use brute force to get into device. I dread having to replace battery.

I love flying drones, so having an accurate outdoor windspeed is very important. The other models I've tried were ok, but you need to figure out wind direction first to get an accurate reading. With this unit, just hold it up in the sky or place it on a tripod and you're ready to go. Only gripe is the craftsmanship isn't great. The entire top spindle of my unit broke off within a few days. Otherwise, deff recommended.

Better than all those others. No need to point directly into the wind. This meter is perfect and great price!!

Very badly made. Both the battery door and the battery holder are tough to use. You probably need a knife to open the battery door. I have no idea how to change the battery without breaking the battery holder. A plastic tweezer might work?

To get battery cover open, turn only 1 quarter to left...not all the way.We had troubles but customer service was outstanding.

If you think so many people are complaining about the struggle with the battery cover by accident, think again. It is actually quite a struggle. if you still decide to go-ahead and by this product, please check the picture I submitted. It will save at least 30min of your life. Pay attention to the marks on the plastic. It's all me struggling to open the cover.Another problem was the not working compass.Except this the product seemed showing the wind speed. Not sure how accurate considering the other aspects of this product.
