I'm able to straighten this out to work fine, not exactly what I'd like to see when opening the box.Shipper/seller, you should really box this in another box. Remember who you're dealing with as far as shipping companies, people and handlers now days. I'd have hated to have to deal with returning something like this if it were damaged any further than it was.Great filter though.

Lucky for me Amazon is so good at making things right. The 42088 is 3 1/2 inches "tall" the 42083 is the correct"height" at 2 inches which is the same as the Fram I'm replacing. The 42088 is probably a good unit for the correct vehicle, just NOT a 1980 Camaro.Thanks Amazon for making this right;Dennis

This works better in the Edelbrock 1203 air cleaner than the thin one that comes with the cleaner. It fits good and gives you more surface for air intake. Just check your hood clearance first.

I bought this filter for our old '85 Lazy Daze RV which has no computer to speak of (or that I'm aware of anyway) and certainly no fuel injection -- old school carb. Anyway, I love the WIX products since many (if not all?) are made here in the US and I'd rather have something built locally than pay for something built by someone overseas.. Unfortunately my local auto parts stores carry very little WIX products -- only a few select oil filters. Since all or most of the Fram filters are made in China now, this was an easy decision to make here! Anyway, this is just a filter and what's to go wrong with it? The price is reasonable and it works! YMMV!
