Now, these horns were originally made for boaters so that they could communicate with one another either in the fog or the darkness out on the water. Since then; however, we have found countless other important uses for them. They are great at sporting events to show your support and jubilation for your team. The smaller units such as this are great because of their small size which fits conveniently into a purse or a pocket. In this capacity, the blast from the fog horn can alert others if you are in danger and help disorient an intruder to either scare them off or give you time to react. This horn works up to USCG standards and is a great product for the price.

I got this item 2 weeks ago. I've used it quite a bit, and it only just ran out. Very definitely got my money's worth. Also, it's pretty loud.

Horn is loud. One of mine showed up broken, still works, but trigger falls out.

I didn’t purchase this fog horn for its typical use. I was researching for something to help me deal with a multiple barking dog nuisance that was causing me much sleep loss when I was having to work extra hours through the Covid pandemic. I had neighbors on both sides of my apartment that were oblivious to their dogs barking for hours on end. This little wonder in a can shut those little shits up. It also seemed to alert the neighbors to their rudeness. A much needed wake up call for them. A few days of blowing this horn covertly out my window at the dogs and the neighbors started bringing their dogs in when they were barking nonstop. Amazing thought… it’s often the humans that need to be trained, not the animals.

Terrible product and can't return or get refunded.First problem: BARELY makes a sound.Crap. That's the whole point of it!!SECOND problem: Top part, The HORN falls off!!! Seriously! I tried every way to make it stay put for use but NOPE.JUNK.Dont waste your money!

While walking our dogs on leash at the beach neighborhood a dog got away from its owner , I have a Pit Bull the dog that got loose was a black lab headed straight for us ! I took that horn out and stopped that dog right in its tracks which would have been a disaster if I didn’t have it!! The dog ran back to its owner and she thanked me!! I’ll be buying and recommending this to everyone that walks their dogs!!!Update! So when I purchased this in October it was 13.00 with tax! Now it’s almost 18.00!! I came back to buy a few more cans, I might have to look elsewhere!

I chose this item because of reviews saying it wasn't as loud as it should be, which is what I wanted, not as loud as a ballpark airhorn, but loud enough for its intended purpose. I hit the button for a quick blast of sound to train my cat to stop jumping up on the kitchen cabinets and table. It's enough sound to scare the tomcat, but not so loud that the neighbors in the apartments around me hear the blast. It has only taken a few times of using the horn & already he's stopped that behavior.... or... rather at least while I am home! I saw some reviews that the button was hard to push - I didn't find that to be true, at all.
