The idea behind this educational writing tool has the potential to be a huge step up from the traditional sand tray solution. On the left is a tray that holds cards that serve as a guide for writing. The cards are kept tidy by a wooden door magnetically held shut. On the other side is essentially an etch-a-sketch. The problem is the writing side is low quality so within a few swipes of the knob intended to clear the picture, it jams and eventually the kid forces it and breaks. If construction quality was higher this would be great form factor, great educational function, etc...

This was super cool and our kid was excited to use it, unfortunately it didn't survive the "dad's foot in the dark living room" test. Didn't hurt my foot too bad (I'm looking at you, Legos). but the thing cracked right in half. It's a pity because our younger daughter really was doing great with this thing!

The product accurately represents the product. This nifty tracer is fun and provides hours of entertainment. It is lightweight and easy to position for the little ones. The ability to erase and start over builds confidence for the little ones. I believe the price point is fair.I recommend this product.

JoyCat compact travel letter tracing board is nice. This item is well designed and thought out as to functionality and practicality. This tracing board is made of solid wood and the stylus is attached and magnetized. The wooden cover for the cards is also magnetic. There is a carrying handle for quiet, busy work on the go. The cards are medium weight and glossy with capitals on one side and lowercase on the other. Numbers show targeting points and arrows show directionality. This toy was awesome in Pre-K for 3 days. Then the wooden eraser handle came detached. Kids were devastated and gathered around saying; "You can fix it right?" Well, the screws on back were easy to remove and the back revealed that the wooden red handle simply fits into a wooden slot on the magnetic eraser stick inside. There is minimal glue holding it at that joint as you can see in the closeup picture. 3-4 tiny dots is what I see. I added a layer of superglue to the bottom and sides of that groove. My handle is SOLID now.Kids were giddy to get their toy back and went straight to work practicing their letters. A well designed and well thought out compact handwriting practice toy for a single student to use independently. Kids will head right for it at choice time as a fun writing activity. JoyCat just needs to superglue that joint and this toy would surely be an A+ item that is practical and will last.

I actually got this for my 2-year-old to keep her preoccupied while I homeschool my other kids, but my 6-year-old loves it just as much. I can't blame her since it really is such a neat writing board! I absolutely love that it's wooden... honestly, that's what sold me on it πIt functions very well. The cards stay in the card holder nicely when I store it back on the shelf, it writes well, it erases well, all of the things. The only con is that the wood knob gets stuck sometimes when we go to slide it up or down to erase. Right now, it just needs a little extra elbow grease, but I'm hoping it won't break or start getting more stuck in the future. As a little bonus, I like that the cards are numbered so you can quickly put them back in order. I hadn't realized that when I got it and it's been a useful feature. My kids were so excited when this writing board arrived and it's been enjoyed by all (ages 2-8)... a rare thing to find something that captures ALL of their attention π I would totally recommend!

This is garbage. The βeraserβ popped right out the first time I tried it out. The board pressed down and got stuck. Itβs just awful. What a waste!

My toddler LOVES this thing! And I love that it all stores nice and neatly. Thanks to everything behind magnetic, the pen has a perfect place to go and stays there as does the door over the flashcards. It has a carrying handle on the top, which I was distrussting of at first (not wanting my child to spill out all her flashards everywhere) but t he door stays in place and keeps the cards in their holder! I also like that the door on the flashcards completely comes off and you can get it out of the way. This has been great for my 3 yo who loves doing "school work" and tracing sheets. You can also put the card directly over the drawing pad and trace over the card and it'll appear underneath on the drawing board! This has been a great teaching/learning tool and a good educational car toy that my kids love!
