Without a tool it is virtually impossible to remove the timing gear. I would go as far as saying it’s impossible without damaging something. Quite possibly the crank case, and then it’s a lot of money and time to put it right. For a relatively small investment you can save all the hassle by buying this Woostar removal tool.It’s very solidly built of cast iron. With this tool the whole removal process takes 10 minutes. A worthy investment and saves hours of swearing!
