I liked the price at first but only after a few months of use it’s a total waste of money that I’ll never get back!!! And risked my life trusting a brand that I never heard of was probably my fault wish I could get my money back but I know that wound happen very disappointing

Unit fits great to replace Mercruiser Stern Drive cable system but add does not specify that it is only for max 150 hp. Warranty void if used for over 150 hp.

purchased this in August of 2019 with the intention of getting it installed before winter. That did not happen because I decided to rebuild the instrument console and redo some other parts of the boat. Anyway, finally got it installed. Everything fit my old 1974 stern drive with no issues. The hoses that came with the kit were too long. I sent a message to the seller and asked if I could get shorter hoses expecting that I would have to purchase some. Instead they sent me fitting for FREE, told me to cut the hoses to length and install the fittings !! Wow it worked. I had some problems on my first attempt and they sent pictures and assistance via email. Second attempt all went well. Bottom line great customer service. I can not tell the difference between this setup and systems built by sea star and other systems. In any event with it all installed it seems to be working fine with no leaks. I have not gotten the boat back in the water yet. testing on the trailer showed that it was about 7 turns from lock to lock. Also when I would push on the drive it would not reverse drive the steering, so I am really looking forward to trying it under power and see how it works.Update: 6/26/2020 - Two trips to the lake. Works great !! It does not reverse drive, ie very little feedback. I can set a course and take my hand off the wheel and the boat just holds it. Previously motor torque would start turning the wheel. The 7~8 turns lock to lock is taking some getting used to. The old cable was about 3 turns so this is about 2x slower. However, it just takes some getting used to the difference after running her for 8 years with the other steering system. At speed though this system is wonderful. For the first time I put the throttle all the way down and did not feel that engine torque was going to snatch the wheel from my hand. Rock solid control. It did get a little stiffer at high seed so obviously the motor was pushing on the ram, but she did not stray off course, wheel did not turn, and I could steel easily turn the wheel. It was great !!5/9/2021: System is still working great. Did some cold weather boating this winter and it gets stiff when it gets cold. not sure if this is the system or the fluid I am using. I am using a synthetic hydraulic fluid as I figured that might work better than some of the other oils. Overall still happy with the system. No problem no leaks.

Although there is no instructions with this kit it is pretty much self explanatory if you have basic mechanical abilities. The steering ram fits in place of the stock steering cable. Routing the hoses was the toughest part of the job. You will want a helper to bleed the air from the fitti gs on the steering ram. The seller was VERY helpful and responsive when i messaged about some questions I had reguarding the addition of an autopilot. You will need a steering wheel to complete this conversion, as the helm has a tapered 3/4 shaft as most of the newer boats use. The components in the kit all seem to have good fit. The machining is good quality.
