Necessity to replace Locking Hub:
- The locking hub may failure to lock the hub because of the sludge, rust and worn parts inside the vehicles locking hub.
- Thus causing problem like increased fuel consumption, noise on the highway, serious front wheel wear and tear.

Function of Locking Hub Actuator
- Used to locking front left and front right wheels.
- There have two situation of locking hubs on front wheels.
- When 4WD is dis-engaged, the locking hubs will disconnect the axle and allow it spin freely, rear wheels will achieve vehicle moving.
- When 4WD is engaged, the front wheels will get torque from the engine for the locking hubs will lock in front wheels to front axle. Replace the damaged lock hub in time to get better driving.

1 of the pair of lockouts keeps making noise like it's trying to lock itself. I have to either keep a piece of tape on it or keep it locked. Although they are a cheaper option than the more expensive ones.UPDATE: The wheel bearing was bad in that tire/wheel and didn't know it so now that it is replaced, there is no noises so these hubs are a perfect replacement for my '04 F250. Therefore I'm changing from 4 stars to 5 stars.

Fit perfect on my 2002 F350. Took about 30 seconds to install per side. My originals had 400,000 miles on them and they would stick open/locked. They were due for an upgrade.
