This switch is advertised as 170 Degree on 155 Degree Off. Not even close. I ordered two assuming they would be junk and bench tested both before daring to put them into my car. As expected, they are indeed junk. The first one didn't open (turn on) until the temp hit 180. The second one opened early at 160 but neither ever closed (turned off). I gave up on them closing after the temp dropped to 120 and the switch still remained open. What that means is instead of your radiator fans turning on when the engine temp reaches 170 degrees, they will either turn on 10 degrees later or 10 degrees sooner resulting in your engine temperature being higher than you want before the fans kick in to reduce coolant temperature and once the fans kick on, they won't turn off until you shut the engine off which will result in a significantly shorter lifespan for your fans. I doubt that many people took the time to bench test these and simply installed them assuming that they're fine but I wasn't about to take any chances with my car. I'm glad I took the time rather than exposing my engine to overheating issues. You have been warned. Buy this "thermo sensor" at your own risk.

I used this to convert my son's 2011 Nissan Frontier from mechanical to electric cooling. It has been months now and it has worked flawlessly. This is his daily driver in Atlanta traffic. That's a pretty good test of durability in my opinion.

Very good sensor that fit into the housing which I install it into the water hose so you don’t need to make a hole in your radiator or your engine

I bought a different brand and had to return it since it was stuck open. This installed easily in the 1/8" NPT fitting and accurately opens and closes at the specified temperatures (+/- 2 degrees).
