This goes on the Outer Axle. I installed on a 2004 Ford Excursion (same as F250). Fit very snug. Clean the axle surface well before installing. Light lubricant helps. Also, heating the seal with a hair dryer or something makes it a bit easier to install. I don't know about longevity but they appear well made. Good Product for the $$.

Hard to install without special tool. 1 side stayed on axle to install. Other would try to pop off. But once put into place stayed on fine due to it being compressed.
