About this item

  • Heavy Duty Connector: This KMR400 cable is with SMA Male to N Male adapter and the heavy duty connector is made of solid copper. and it is waterproof that they could be used in the outdoor antenna.
  • Prevent Coming Off: Our n to sma cable use the black heat shrink tube and lined adhesive by heat shrinking to connect the adapter and the coaxial cable . And the length is up to 2.2 in that is longer than others which would prevent the connector coming off.
  • LOW LOSS Cable: The inner conductor of this KMR400 sma to n cable is copper clad aluminium and it causes very low signal loss. The Jacket is made of the flexible and proof-water pvc that could be used so long in the harsh environments in the outdoor.
  • Application:This 50 ohm n-male to sma-male Cable could be connected from SMA Equipment to N-Type Antennas ,Used for 3G/4G/LTE/Ham/ADS-B/GPS/RF Radio to Antenna or Surge Arrester Use
  • Professional Produce -- XRDS-RF is a professional manufacture of RF coax cable, which is produce jumper cable over 10 years. Every n male to sma male coax cable was checked and tested to confirm their quality before we send it out.

The cable is stiff, but I knew it would be to keep any loss to a minimum, and shield from any rf noise. The cable works as designed, and while stiff, gets the job done.

Works great hooked up to the ADSB Antenna on the roof .1090 MHz Filter and Flight Aware USB receiver to the Raspberry Pi 3 . Antenna is about 25feet off the ground and receiving ADSB aircraft signals 150 miles out depending on terrain .

I was using a 25ft KMR240 for my ADS-B (978/1090 MHz) plane tracking, but due to some re-configuring, I needed more length. The signal loss in KMR240 with lengths over 25ft was more then I was willing to accept. I bought this KMR400 in a 35ft length to replace the 25ft KMR240. The KMR400 is much bulkier, heavier and more difficult to bend compared to the KMR240. However, the signal loss around 1000 MHz was much lower then the KMR240, so despite adding length to my cable run, I was able to lower my cable losses (attenuation). This particular cable is well made and I expect it to last for many years.

Cables have very low loss and is of good quality. Used at work for a project and it worked very well at high frequencies.

I have modified my T-Mobile 5G home internet router to accept SMA antenna connectors for an exterior antenna. I had previously used some longer and inexpensive RG-58 cables with my installation and had some issues pulling the higher frequencies for 5G. I relocated the antenna and modem to utilize better quality and shorter cables. My signal levels have not dramatically increased, however my connections are much more stable and I am more frequently running on the higher frequencies for 5G! That's a win in my book. I originally bought 3 foot cables and could just barely make them work, but I wanted a little more slack and returned them for 6 foot cables. The cables that I received had nicely terminated cabling and I have no complaints.I plan to purchase more of these cables for installations in the future for any frequencies above VHF/UHF ham frequencies. Going to be installing some Meshtastic antennas soon, and plan to use some of this cabling.

This cable appears to be very well built and is quite stout. If you are looking for a no-compromise cable to connect between an SMA-female device and an N-female antenna (or vice-versa) then you will be happy with this purchase. Not being familiar with KMR400 but having familiarity with the higher-spec LMR400, I did some brief research and concluded that this will definitely suit my needs considering the length of the cable (3') and the frequency of interest (915MHz).When I bring my Meshtastic node in for servicing, I will test the insertion loss of this cable to give a sense of what its characteristics are in real life. I do not anticipate a measurable loss considering the ratio between cable length and the measurement error of my Rigol DSA815-TG spectrum analyzer.

I had a FlightAware ADS-B 1090 mhz antenna+cable kit mounted outside for 3 years. The cable was thin and the shielding was thin aluminum foil. Rainwater leaked into the antenna connection and dissolved the shielding, creating resistance. After about a year, signal quality was reduced by half. I repaired the connection, but reception was still poor. I recently added a 978 mhz UAT dongle/antenna kit from Radarbox (free from them) which had a better cable and provided better reception for the 978 dongle. Then, it clicked > my cable was the problem! I researched antenna cable for ADS-B and settled on this one. It is thick, sturdy and well insulated from rainwater intrusion. Since installing it, aircraft distance reception has increased from 75 miles to almost 200 miles. The only con I have is it's thickness but I'll accept that for the great signal throughput it provides.
