I've fished it up and down Vanvoucer Island and consistently land rainbows and cutties on this black on black with the silver blade. I seem to have the best luck on 1/6oz and slow retrieve.

These lures never let me down when it comes to fishing just to catch something, not much luck with smallmouth but largemouth, crappie, and bluegill will hit the black as long as it’s not spawning period

The Rooster tail spinner has been an opening day staple on the trout streams here in Western North Carolina for many decades by many, many fisherman. I've caught trout, rainbows and browns, smallmouth bass, bluegills, bream, crappie, rock bass, largemouth bass and even channel cats using Worden's original Rooster-Tails. I've used Rooster Tails since the early '70s, when I was first taken fishing by my dad. He bought me my first Rooster Tail on our way to the lake. Been using them ever since, I always have a selection of different colors and weights of Rooster Tails along in my fishing vest. They catch fish!

We have caught a variety of fish with these, but find that the hook is very difficult to remove and often results in serious injury to the fish. :(
