This soundboard was to replace the old one from church and it is the same type but newer than our old one. It is working great for the church.

I was about to buy a much lower cost mixer, but something just really spoke to me about this Yamaha. I have used so many mixers, both large and small throughout my career of both live and recording mixing. This is a great sized mixer that has been very smartly thought out in its design and wonderfully built. I have used large Yamaha mixers a very long time ago and this is definitely a great mid-priced unit.

I purchased the MGP16X as what I thought was going to be the right solution for me. It has all the features I wanted, I thought. One of the simplest features that did not work how I wanted is the Balance. If I turn the balance all the way to the left, there will still be some audio from that channel in the right. There are some setups where I need the balance to be on one side, and zero on the other side.I am also disappointed in the limited quantity of Aux sends on this unit. If I have as many inputs available as this board has, it would stand to reason that I need more flexibility and options with my Aux sends. Each piece of the groups I work with need their unique mix balanced for aux sends and I'm not just mixing for two piece groups.

I haven't tested the XLR inputs yet but I did record the output of my SSL 2+ through it to use the compressors, EQs and effects. The reverbs on the SPX processor are totally usable and lacks the cheapy, metallic sound quality budget mixers have, but I especially liked the REV-X reverbs. They all sound different, and tweaking a single knob gives a lot of variety per preset.I haven't even used the iPod app to really tweak them. The channel EQs sound very natural, and the compressors make an obvious change to the sound but without actually making things sound compressed. I will update the review when I test the unit further. For now, I just dislike that some pots feel tighter than others, as if they weren't aligned properly and rub against the chassis. The pots on the Yamaha MG10 I use in my church feel evenly tight and more premium when turning them. Also, the channel sliders on this one feel really cheap, loose and wobbly. Every one on each channel feels different. Some are smoother and others are grindier. For the regular $799.99, that would've been a deal-breaker for me, but blessedly, I got it for $570.13 from Amazon back in September 22. Hours later, it went up to $799.99 again. I got lucky! The console looks beautiful, guys. In person it just exudes beauty and looks professional. This is no entry-level mixer. This is for daily use in serious scenarios.I will use more of its features and update the review regarding self-noise and pre-amp quality. God bless you!EDIT: I tested the mic pre-amps and they sound good enough to my ears to not need further processing. The unit's self-noise is acceptable to me for recording purposes.

Installed in my church about 4 months ago. Went with the MGP32X because we have inexperienced volunteer staff and I didn't want to pay for many digital options and new infrastructure that would not get used. This console is well laid-out, quiet and easy for anyone to use with minimal training. Yamaha hit it out of the park on this one in my opinion.

This is a wonderful mixer, number one,for me, two effect in the same mixer ,was the must important thing because I can use one for my voice and the other for my guitar, the sound is so clear and the compressor so effective,I also have the 10 channel Allen Heath that I consider a very good mixer but this Yamaha MGP is more versatile and complete than any compact mixer on the market today. The only problem is... no usb connection for computer to record music !!!!

I used to be a 'Mackie Mixer' fanatic (I have 3 models of them); but pricey as it is, this YAMAHA MGP16X is well worth it. Built-in features like the RevX and SPX sound processors, superb EQ, awesome Compressor on each Mic channel strip (a new first, only from Yamaha) are a breeze. The 'Leveler' is another important feature that is practically useful when using this unit with a Karaoke Player--- it digitally "tames" or equates the volume of each music selection. The 'Head Amp' is another feature---that definitely boost "gain" from any audio source, (this will solve problems of low-output, usually classic music selections). The 'Ducker' feature is most useful to DJs and KJs (karaoke DJ..), where the music level "automatically drops" upon speaking at the 'Source Mic'. Pack for pack, feature for feature, this unit is capable of multiple I/O that could run a medium to large gigs. Indeed, I saved a bundle here; I could have spent so much more if I had to buy separate all the external processors and features that actually already came with this unit! I would recommend this state-of-the-art piece of innovation to all audio/video enthusiast.., prepare to be amazed, put a smile on your ears...!

I'll make this short, this mixer sounds and looks amazing in person. But the item was used prior for deliver. IT SUPPOSED TO THE BRAND NEW! The mixer was not in the plastic bag, I found the bag was on top of the mixer, the power cable was not wrap up with a strap like it should. The box was open prior to shipping, the reason I said this because there are supposed to be staples on the box. I had hope that they pulled it out to inspect, but at least wrap it up like it should be for a brand new product. The seller had to use tape and wrapped it up. The bases are not even, I had to shim 1 side just get it even (imagine your table with 4 legs and you have to put a piece of cardboard under 1 leg to get it to balanced. I hate to found out when purchased something supposed to be brand new ended up used, kinda disappointing with this shipment. Other than that, the mixer build quality is awesome...
