The RSE20 is available in four café racer-inspired finishes and features a chambered body developed using Yamaha’s exclusive Acoustic Design process to enhance tone, reduce weight, and ensure optimal balance. Dual Alnico V humbucking pickups deliver a powerful sound with a warm midrange. A push/pull Dry Switch high-pass filter built into the Tone knob provides more prominent highs and tighter bass without the decreased volume and added hum of coil-splitting. The RSE20L model for left-handed players is also available.

Well built, plays great, sounds fantastic! The bright yellow finish is cool! The body has a gloss finish, but the neck has a super smooth matte finish, which eliminates the sticky feeling you get with the heavy gloss that some manufacturers like to use on their guitar necks. I like the dry circuit, which make your pups sound like P-90's without the noise... Just pull up the tone know, and voilà! I've always liked Yamaha, and this is a great are with many topshelf features!

I am not a professional so I cannot speak from that perspective. Being a drummer who used to gig and having a dad who played professionally, I am coming from someone who plays at home and occasionally with and for friends. I have been very impressed with the quality of this guitar from day 1. It ships with the action a bit high for my taste but that is an adjustment that can be made. I have a few other electric guitars all of which are Fender and this particular Yamaha is significantly heavier. I would say it is close to being uncomfortably heavy but overall is not a concern for me. Very happy with my purchase. Oh, also, it is a beautiful guitar!!

I went to a guitar store and tried this guitar. The setup felt good, the frets also felt good, the selector switch felt cheap and the microphones didn't sound good, they felt cheap. Overall I wouldn't buy this guitar.

It's a simple guitar, well made, and mine well setup! no carbon fiber steal frets other then that just as good as the standard! I had a standard to compare it with so,,,, old great guitars had NO carbon fiber and last longer the the players I have two 1983 Gibson's an SG and a LP Jr no maple cap no no fiber ,no steal!what is left is good playability and great sound ! oh yes no case ... Look for he price its a great guitar! If you have the money Shure get the standard., better resale value! But don't expect that much of a difference !

This guitar is incredible for the price. A set neck, polished and finished jumbo frets out of the box, a REAL ROSEWOOD fretboard that doesn't need moisturizing right away. Absolutely minimum setup out of the box. The pickups are incredible, too. You can go from saccharine sweet to throaty growl, and the dry switch adds so many tonal options. This guitar could EASILY be in the 800-900 dollar range. There's a reason they fly off the shelves.

Played over 50 years, owned over 100 guitars.I love this guitar, it has improved my playing. I approach it aggressively--more speed and unique tone.To say it's great for the price is a total understatement--its simply a great guitar! I own 5 made in Idonesia--they are all rock solid and precise on the key details. Chambered body & Swift Blue are so cool. Tone & playability--excellent in my book. Revstar is getting a ton of attention from my 14 handpicked guitars. Couldn't be happier.

This guitar definitely lives up to its reviews (and I looked at a lot of them). I was a little nervous buying online but it wasn't available locally so I took a chance and am very happy I did. I cannot find anything to complain about. The Japanese care and quality shine through.A big shout out to the staff at Cosmos for the condition the guitar arrrived in. Everything was as it was supposed to be - the setup was great and it was shipped within hours of me placing the order, even though it was just a few days before Christmas and Canada was in a deep freeze.Happy!
