Using 11mm rope, only would lock on if rope was wet, but would loosen grip after a short time. Had to tie off rope onto a pole to make it thru the 4 hour trip. Beautiful craftsmanship but not functional

I saw that this was listed for kayaks and ropes as small as 3mm, but I missed that the measurements were in one of the pictures- not in the text. Because I didn't look at the pics, I assumed it was smaller than it is- so look at the dimensions in the pictures. It's big. For kayak use, I think too big for what I had in mind.The casting is a bit rough, but then again the price is low. It's not going to have the perfect machining and finish as a European made expensive one. It does look sturdy enough and does appear to function properly, though.

Nice but I'm running 2 ropes through it and they need to be side by side ( cleat , rope , rope , cleat) not deep enough to just slide through and not tight enough for paracord.
