Immediately returned. My hand is more stable than the gimbal, tested in all modes. It occasionally behaves strangely, and some buttons don’t do what they’re supposed to. The instructions don’t match the actual functions, so you have to figure things out by trial and error. I had such a bad experience that I think it is defective. But the most ridiculous thing is what’s shown in the photo: in a vertical position, the light is covered by the arm. I spent an hour trying to figure it out because I couldn’t believe such a blatant design flaw, but there’s no solution. It just needed to be on the opposite side.

The instruction book is hard to read (4pt type), and finding a readable set of instructions was rather hard to get to on the website. The quick start failed to mention the unit needed to be charged before use and after charging and trying to use it works...somewhat...but still trying to figure out all the button actions and the phone app.

Dit was onze eerst gimbal. Het heeft wel wat YouTube filmpjes gekost om er leren mee te werken.Eens je de werking door hebt is de werking toch wel spectaculair te noemen.Hij gaat nu mee op vakantie en we zullen nog wat oefening nodig hebben.

I did my first tests. It works really well. Only thing is that it is a bit short for my Samsung S22 Ultra. It works with this phone but if you have a smaller one its probably even better.

Sou produtor de vídeos educativos e achei o produto excelente. No início, tive a impressão de que ele apresentava um defeito, mas descobri que era uma questão de atualização de firmware, que, uma vez realizada, resolveu o problema rapidamente. Apenas sugiro uma apresentação mais agradável para o manual. O design do produto é muito bonito e, até o momento, na fase de testes, está funcionando perfeitamente.

This is a very capable gimbal with a wealth of features for the smartphone user. Multiple modes enable control in any situation likely to be encountered and, with the app, subject tracking works very well.With a modern phone (I use an iPhone 14 Pro) the resulting footage is silky smooth, and additional functions, such as hyperlapse, work well, allowing e.g. speeded up footage out of the phone, rather than needing to be created in post.Buttons are thoughtfully placed on the gimbal body, allowing quick access to the main functions during use. The extendable arm is very useful to get the right angles/framing and the combo kit includes a table-top tripod and a surprising powerful fill light.The app offers good control over the gimbal's features and a reliable, stable connection, although it takes a bit of getting used to - it's very easy to end up in the sharing/templates section when trying to set functions for a shoot.Overall a great piece of equipment and light/small enough to take anywhere with minimal effort.

Have always been a little intimidated by gimbals because I thought they would be way too complicated for my 62 yr old brain. Then I tried this one. WOW! Very easy to learn. (I made small flash cards on a ring to carry around while I was filming so I could remember how many times to press the trigger etc for a certain task.) All it takes just a little practice. The app is great and the gimbal is so much fun! You'll be excited to get started but always remember NEVER POWER ON YOUR GIMBAL WITHOUT YOUR PHONE ATTACHED FIRST. The built in selfie stick and lights are all you need. Be sure to check out the "Glamor" mode - softens wrinkles and there is also a slim button which subtly slims your face. You control how much effect you want by sliding this bar from 0 to 100%. Also this mode also whitens your teeth. I love this gimbal and you will too! So many more cool features - check it out! (Remember to turn you bluetooth on so the gimbal can connect.) Have fun!

I’ve seen so many great videos shot with gimbals so decided to give them a try. My friend uses Zhiyun gimbal and he recommended me it.I should say that it will definitely take some time to master the device but the quality is just great - it is made of quality material, looks great, functions smoothly and it feels so nice in hand.I recommend it!

This is excellent but the pan movement is a bit sensitive and I still have to take my phone out of it's case to use it or it falls out easily...

This is my first gimbal purchase and I almost bought DJI version but liked the ease of mode change on Zhiyun. Don’t have to log into the app to do it. This allows for quick change. The stabilization is great as well, even when running with it. There were some software quirks when the motors get loaded with weight if the phone gets in certain position. It is easily resolved by turning it in or off. Despite that, this provides great stabilization and ease of mode change so definitely the right purchase for me.

I had the old Zhiyun Smooth Q (the original Q) for a long time - but when I got the iPhone 14 Pro Max, it couldn't not handle the weight of the phone. Thankfully the Smooth Q4 seems to handle the iPhone 14 Pro Max with a case (285g) pretty well. I haven't had the chance to run through all the tests but so far I'm loving it.iPhone 14 Pro Max has the action mode built in, why would I still use a gimbal? Well, the Action Mode can only record 2.8k/60p and it also crops in the video quite a bit. With the Smooth Q4, I can do 4k 60p and have the same or better smoothness to capture action shots.Pros:- comes with a detachable tripod stand and you can actually attach an extension pole for a crane shot if you so desire because of the 1/4" thread- it is light weight and folds up easily- then extendable rod really helps to do the low angle shots without breaking my back- the ZY Cami app has a lot of tutorials and templates to follow- can attach a magnetic fill light (not part of the standard package)- battery lasts much longer than dji osmo mobile- works with Filmic Pro- indicator lights on the grip that tells you which gimbal mode you are inCons:- Requires unlocking 3 joints to unfold. However, the pan unlock has no indicator, so not sure if I should turn left or right to unlock (same with locking). The Tilt and Roll unlock has dots that line up when locked.- When folded, the mount meets up against the handle and I can imagine easily scratching it- On start up, it's ALWAYS in portrait mode - I wished it remember last mode used - and to flip to landscape requires THREE clicks on the trigger button- I have a very thin case on the iPhone 14 Pro Max and even though the clamp arm had no problem with the width of the phone but the clamp fold out grips are short so it's barely clipping on the phone. If you have a more heavy duty case, it may not be able to fully clip on the phone due to the thickness.- the button layout feels like the gimbal is more suited for a left hand hold- the extendable rod is very tight, I don't want to accidentally break off the rod if I pull too hardOverall, definitely a huge improvement against my original Smooth Q. I was tempted to get the DJI OM 6 - which has some improvements over the ZY Smooth Q4 such as magnetic phone clamp or dual light clamp. However, the price point of the ZY Smooth Q4 outweighs the missing features.
