These are quality metal #5 YKK zippers; however, they are not suitable for nylon plastics (composite) zippers. They do not replace the metal YKK #5 zipper on my decades old fleece with composite teeth. For a novice like myself, other vendors were more helpful, provided clear instructions, and found for me a suitable composite YKK zipper replacement.

Bought this Fire rated Carhartt jacket on marketplace, and the zipper was damaged. I was a little skeptical of getting a replacement zipper, but this one matched the zipper threads and overall tone of the jacket perfectly. You don’t need to buy a Carhartt branded zipper, this one works fantastically. You could hardly even tell it’s not the original part

Perfectly replaced the brass YKK #5 zipper on my American Giant hoodie. Getting the old top stop off was quite difficult (need diagonal cutters and small pliers). Once that was done, the rest was easy. This is a quality set with a genuine YKK slider, unlike many of the 100-300 piece zipper repair kits that are full of lots of junk pieces. Worth it!

It is appx 1mm wider and 0.5mm higher than size 5 zipper. It did not work with other size 5 zippers.
