About this item

  • Note: 1)Too coarse a grind, too little coffee, or insufficiently tamping the grounds before brewing can all lead to inadequate pressure for a proper brew. 2)It is important to note that the amount of espresso extracted will vary depending on the grind size and amount and reprogramming may be needed when the size and amount are adjusted
  • fast and easy use for hot or cold press coffee

  • durable double wall borosilicate glass carafe handmade and mouth blown by skilled artisans

With its Italian-designed carafe and filter press engineered by ZWILLING J. A. Henckels in Germany, this French Press has a distinctive European design that delivers a delicious brew every time. Mouth-blown by skilled artisans, this stylish and durable French Press lets you brew and serve right at the table. Here is my review BLUFfed as a Haiku:Threads are the wrong size,Coffee puddles around me,Thank God it's broken. There are two annoying things about this particular French Press. First, on mine at least, the knob on the top was threaded at too large a size for the threads on the plunger, so it wobbled or fell off all the time. The threads weren't stripped or damaged, they were just the wrong size. The other annoying part is that I never found a way to pour coffee from it without the coffee dribbling down the carafe and onto my countertop. I think that starting the pour very slowly would remedy that, but after a few years of ownership, I only got that to work once before the thing fell into my sink and shattered. It's glass, so I don't fault the product for breaking. I'm actually glad it finally broke, though, so I can buy a different one.

As advertised and very sturdy. It leaks a little every few pours but I think you need to pour more slowly and it seems fine. It's thick walled and perfect. The filters are a little smaller in diameter than my last one and most that I have had.

i looooove how this looks on my coffee bar ! i really wanted a double walled glass french press, and this one is gorgeous and durable. any spilling from the spout talked about in other reviews isn't an issue at all if you just pour slow. i love it !!the only problem for me is that the filter/center rod is loose ? it won't stay put above the coffee grounds when it's steeping, but sinks down into the water. this is a deal breaker for me because as much as i love visually appealing coffee tools, i care even more about a good finished product. i will say the coffee is still good, but this issue is a defect and i'm aiming to continually perfect my coffee making. i'm very sad to be returning this because i had high hopes and love how pretty it is !

I am configuring it correctly with the strainer next to the spout, yet it drips coffee down the side of the carafe onto the bottom where it leaves one of those circular coffee marks on the table. There's is no way to avoid this, other than placing the carafe on a plate or coaster. Boo. No good, zwilling. I also notice the plunger is so loose in the carafe that it plunges itself during the waiting period before it's ready to be pressed, as there is no Resistance like when these pieces are properly sized. Again, no good, zwilling. Very poor execution. Very poor indeed. However, the coffee tastes great Even though it's Kirkland organic whole bean Ethiopian light roast. So that's two strikes, one plus.

This is a gorgeous French press. Perfect for 2 cups in the morning. The glass is easy to clean, I have had it for a few months and I did read some reviews it was very fragile but just treat it like it's glass. The walls and handle aren't too thin and the press is nice and solid, it screws apart to clean. The spout can be drippy but only if you try to pour super fast.

The product has a great design and high quality material. It seems fragile and you need to be careful to use it.

Great visually. Almost no plastic except some piece on the lid. Bought this press to retain the temperature for longer and it does work. The vacuum double wall construction allows prolonged temperature retention. The main problem is that it spills all over when I try to pour it. The work around is to pour very very slow so it doesn't overfill the cap. I thing a design flaw or maybe my item is defective. It's a big deal given that you are getting all in coffee when you try to pour in cup and have to wipe it.

Hated how this French press poured the coffee. Half the time, it ended up spilling all over the table. I don't recommend as it is very frustrating to not pour properly.
