Using it with a ski tuning machine and works just fine. Scale is a little larger than I really need, but at this price point I really can't complain, even if I had payed for it. Build quality and case are what you'd expect for under $20.

This is a simple Refractometer, with a range that is suitable to things like espresso or fruit juice. Even if "Brix" is not the scale that you need, it should be easy enough to convert to whatever units you care about with some simple math.Sometimes the line on the chart is a bit blurry. In that case, try reading it under different lights sources until you find something that gives a nice sharp measurement.The only complaint I have is that the focusing knob is too easy move. I would have preferred if it were stiffer so to make it harder to accidentally move it after finding the right focus.

This is good to measure the sugar content in liquids. Can also be used to estimate TDS in coffee by multiplying the Brix reading by 0.85.

I got these to help me judge the sugar content when making hard cider. I calibrated these with a base of distilled water, then used my test solution of a known amount of dissolved sugar and these were right on the reading I was expecting. I can see using this to take quick readings to see how the sugar is being used up. The tool is very nicely made and comes with a case, pipettes and a small screwdriver. Very nice kit for a Brix meter.

Been looking for a way to measure the sugar content in my home made kombucha and ginger beer. This one seems to work perfect as advertised. It came calibrated from the factory.Came with a plastic box for protection which is great.Now it gets time to test all sugar drinks ans get familiar with the reading. Recommended

I raise honey bees and really needed a refractometer to analyze the water content of my honey before harvesting. This easy to use little device is perfect for telling me my honey's moisture percentage to tell how my honey is doing and when it is ready to harvest.This refractometer is accurate and convenient for these tests. The price is affordable and I honestly can't tell the difference between this unit and much more expensive models. Good value for the price.
