Looked to big at first. But after cleaning slot and lubing was able to install. Important to get whole seal in slot before push seal to rear of slot.

I ordered the ring according to the model number but it was too big. I researched whether I needed to heat it first but I was to place it on the canner and the fit was supposed to be perfect. Maybe a fluke but didn’t work for me. Presto it is!

These parts fit great and worked very well on my ancient wood handled National (now Presto) canner. The old rubber ring had gotten so loose it sometimes jiggled out of place while I was carefully putting the lid on the canner. The ring is rather snug and so you have to work it in slowly and systematically. I read other reviews saying that you can oil it and that did seem to help get it in place slightly easier as well.

Older canner needed new seal. Very hard to make it fit, took several failed attempts of using it to get it perfect and not leak water. Finally got it fitted in place exactly where it needed. Worked great once we had it there.

The delivery was extremely fast. The installation was simple. Sadly they don't last forever. Over time they shrink and become brittle. (Years with normal use). I have never tried an off brand made from another material. Perhaps they would be better, perhaps not. The important thing is that I will get several more years of canning done. As far as the rubber over pressure/ release plug, I have never changed mine out and therefore can't comment.
