Bought this for my kids. They are small so they can’t use a screw top jar. This jar has a lever lock that makes it easy to shut and open the jar tightly without too much strength.I did a test using dumplings to see if it would keep them warm for at least 5 hrs in the “safe zone”. Happy to report that food stayed at 140 F at least 1 hr into the placing it, which means it can be eaten (no more than) 5 hrs after putting the food into your jar (food safety recommends throwing food away if it is below 140 F for more than 4 hrs). I did heat up the jar with boiling hot water before placing the dumplings.Obviously, performance is dependent on where you live and season/temperature so do your own test!

Poor design. The cap is to hard to pull off.I bought this for my grandson and he can’t get the lid off. I tried and couldn’t get it, so my husband tried and he said it was hard to get off

Got this in May for my daughter because this was an upgrade from a smaller food container , she love the color and design , used for about 1 month and it was summer break so it was kept away . School just started this past august and been using this food container but unfortunately it’s coming apart. This is the bottom of the actual lid to hold the entire lid together and close . You can see it’s separating from it. Basically this is useless now because it doesn’t even hold the heat and sign of leakage.

I got this for my kindergartener’s lunchbox because she is not able to unscrew a traditional thermos or container top yet. This item has a lift off top. Once I tried it, I found it uses vacuum seal to close. The instructions are to lift a handle into straight up position then the top pulls right off. And it does, the problem is, the handle is so hard to pull up because it’s vacuum sealed. You have to get a finger under the handle while it’s flush against the top. I as an adult had trouble opening this. I had my 6 foot 200 pound teenage son try, who also has to really muscle his way through lifting the handle. The jar was empty during our attempts, maybe this affected it, but my kindergartener cannot open this :-/ So, it is definitely a leak proof and strong quality item that we will keep for the adults in the home but I am still looking for the item we need for the little ones lunchbox
