Template does not work with the inlay bushing & collet because it is not a 1/4” thick .

These are cut so poorly and rough they are unusable. If these came off my CNC or laser cutter they would go right into the garbage as errors. Do not buy these. They are absolutely terrible.

The description and pictures of this product show the templates are etched with size descriptions. This is absolutely not true. The product comes with a bunch of stickers. Just break out your Dremel tool when you get it..

I selected this because all of the sizes were on one template. This provides a good platform for the router base to ride on. This template is thick. No chance of it distorting. It came with two sets of clear stickers with the sizes on them that can be attached beneath each butterfly. I used the template to route out the three smaller sizes to see which one would be best for my workpiece. Each one came out perfect. I highly recommend this template.

One of the cutouts is slightly too large. All the others were dead on accurate. The one was not off that much where as I could use it fine. I will just not use it in the future since the others are close enough in size. So, make a practice cut before you use it on your final product.

These templates do exactly what they should. The acrylic allows you to really visualize the area you’re cutting out. I suggest using a very strong mounting tape and keep your surface dust free for best performance.

I followed the instructions that came with this template set, plus watched a youtube video on the process and everything came out great. Be sure when routing the recess for the butterfly in the workpiece that the spacer ring is mounted on the bushing insert in your router, remove the spacer ring when cutting the butterfly to be inserted. All you need to do to complete the recess is to clean up the corners with a chisel.
