These whistles are great to put on a backpack when hiking, or hunting, or give to your kids to keep in their pocket when going to crowded places where you could get separated. They just blow the whistle if they get lost. It is a very cheap precaution. The metal chain is nice for putting on a keychain or securing to a pack. These whistle make three different tones simultaneously. They sound a little like a train whistle. The theory is that different tones are heard better in different conditions, so all the bases are covered. The downside is that these whistles require more air when compared to single tone whistles, however it is not significant and a child would have no issue using these. These were tested in water, and yes they float even with the metal chain attached. They also fit snugly into molle webbing.

Got these for church camping group, and at school to corral kids. The volume is so loud it makes my own ears ring when I tested it out. You can get different tone combinations by sliding it across your mouth like a crazy loud harmonica. Feels durable, and each has a little chain making it easy to add to backpacks or keychains.
