Exact fit - This piece in part of a pre assembled unit. You cannot rotate it into place. Use a very thin bladed putty knife and a hair dryer to slide it into place. You actually have to fit into a piece that’s inside of the main housing. The catch has to be in place before the pivots. If you don’t understand my description put the vacuum on a work bench with good light and take a good look at it. The piece is mass produced and way over priced. The cheap ones will break when installed or soon after.
