This adapter would not work for my Garmin. The 4 metal contacts barely touch the male end and it simply doesn't work. I purchased the Minn Kota brand adapter instead and it works perfect. The differences are subtle but it's enough to make it completely useless.

Works, got my minnkota sonar connected to Garmin echo map. I also needed the 8 pin to 12 pin to connect to the quick release mount.
