It won't tighten down if you use a grinding wheel. It will if you use a cutting wheel, but those don't sharpen well. It's very difficult to hold the bit into the slot on the unit and even more difficult to spin the bit on the grinder. It's easier to use nothing but your eyes to get the bit at the right angle.

This is such a simple kit.I installed it on my older dewalt angle grinder just because it is yellow. I was shocked at how well it clamped onto the OEM shield. It would actually stay on without the bolts, making it really easy to install.The angle guide takes a little getting used to, so start with some throwaway bits. I feel like it works best with a cutoff wheel installed, so you get the flattest cut. I use gentle consistent pressure and spin the bit fairly quickly between my finger and thumb. Once you get the muscle memory taught, it goes really quickly.Best part of all is that you can leave this guide on the grinder all the time, and still use the grinder for cutting stuff!
