Out of all the shells there were 3 shells that were smooth enough along the opening to be safe for a hermit crab to use. Jagged openings can harm the crab.

These shell are sturdy, good quality shells. None were broken and all were very attractive. There’s a good variety of different sizes, but wish there were even smaller ones. Worth the money.

This is a good quality set of shells. There is a good variety of sizes. Good value for the money. Perfect for my hermit crabs.

Well size matters. There must be a size difference in interpretation. The shells I got went from tiny opening to small to one medium opening. If you have tiny ( baby crabs ) this pkg would be good. If you have " small to medium " sized crabs . This pke will not work for you. I have one usable shell and a buch of decore. Other then that the shells look nice.
