Many complain about the thinness and flexibility of this product. But, those were exactly the qualities I wanted. I used this wire fencing to construct a cage around my bluebird feeder. The 1.5" spacing between wires was barely wide enough for bluebirds to squeeze in and tight enough to keep most starlings out.

We used this product to construct a cage to go around all sides of our backyard hopper-style bird feeder. The 1.5 inch openings are big enough to let small birds (finches) thru, but small enough to keep the voracious big birds (grackles) out. The wire mesh is flexible, yet surprisingly sturdy. We're happy and the finches are happy.

I got this to surround my bird feeders so the big greedy doves cant chase away the smaller birds and eat all the seed, works great.

We have a fenced in yard but it never fails to completely keep out the bunnies or the little turtles. My dogs love to bring us critters, so I wanted to reinforce our fence. We dug a trench around the outside, buried this about three or four inches below the ground level, secured it with metal rings on the top and it blends right in to our fence color. Haven't had an issue with critters yet. Works great. We did have to find a different solution for the two gate areas, but the majority was solved with this product.

This is NOT made with 16 gauge galvanized wire. My guess is it is made with 18 gauge galvanized wire or smaller and vinyl coated up to 16 gauge total. This is NOT what is stated in the description.Other than that it is a decent product

We've always had a few Eastern Starlings show up at our bird feeders to gorge themselves, but this year they were coming in droves and threatened to bankrupt me with bird seed--plus they tend to frighten off a lot of the smaller birds.Starling-proof feeders all seemed to come with 1.5-inch square hardware cloth as a barrier to keep the flying piggies at bay, but buying one good pre-designed feeder cost as much as this whole roll of fencing, so I decided to try the do-it-myself approach. All in all, I'm happy with the product. The wire arrived in good condition, and it's thin enough to be easy to manipulate. (See below for further comment on the thickness.)I was able to quickly build a prototype cage for our seed-pillar-holding feeder as a trial run. The finches, chickadees, titmice, and even downy woodpeckers all quickly found that they could enter the holes to get to the food. Hairy and red-bellied woodpeckers can easily reach their heads far enough in to grab a snack, too. The same is true for more enterprising starlings, but even they can't gorge themselves like they used to, and the big flocks seem to have moved on to easier pickings. As for the "16 gauge" claim on this wire: A quick Internet search shows that bare 16 gauge wire is 1.291mm diameter or 1.57mm in galvanized wire. A few checks with my micrometer showed this wire to be anywhere from 1.44mm to 1.64mm diameter. Considering this product supposedly is both galvanized and plastic dipped, if the bare wire is proper thickness, the coatings are pretty darned thin, which raises some questions in my mind about durability. Luckily, given the size of the roll, I'll have lots of spare wire to rebuild my bird baffles if necessary.
