After 25 years in the industry, I’ve replaced my fair share of freezer defrost thermostats, and I CAN'T say that brand-name versions are always worth the extra cost. Some have failed quickly, and I’ve even had to replace parts on brand-new refrigerators that didn’t last a month.This particular thermostat was listed at $8.99, though similar ones cost $20 to $40 so this is a great price. It’s a simple fix for defrosting issues and easy to install.Don't worry if the connectors don't fit, there are many different safe ways to wire it in. Just make sure the thermostat your replacing matches these specs if you plan to use this one.Temperature Activation: Closes at 17°F (-8°C); opens at 42°F (5.5°C).Honestly, manufacturers should either redesign how heating elements are controlled or make these disposable parts more accessible for replacement.This part fit as described.
