These will be so much better than filling up those plpastic bags of sand and trying to fit them in the base of my pool ladder. they come with straps to attach to ladder and can be filled with water which means no sand debris in the pool. Made of heavy duty plastic I don't believe there will be a problem. Time will tell.TADA!

If you have the actual pool steps, not the ladder that comes with the pool, i mean the steps you get as an addition- than you know the adventures you go through after setting up the pool to get the steps to sit where you want. Even sitting the steps in while the pools filling is quite an experience if the holes arent filling as fast as the pool is. You definitely need some weight to help- but also something that won't cause damage to the vinyl! These step weights are one of the best inventions ive used so far. I've tried multiple things- jugs, sandbags, cement blocks in bags. Now because of the multiple functionalities, by far the easiest to use. I'll be honest- a pain to fill.** Side note- use a funnel if your using sand!!! I mean you dont have to specifically use them for the steps- I've used mine to hold down a tarp over the pool , I literally laid them on top of the tarp, on top of the water! Ive used them to hold down my trampoline lid during storms before I was able to connect it fully by strapping the lid to the weights. Now, before I filled my pool, I had them on each side of the pool tied to the sides. There is more than one thing you can use these for essentially anything that needs some weight to it, these are perfect. They come with straps that velcro shut on the handle part, and in my opinion they are pretty strong velcro. They fit perfectly on the side of my steps, i have the steps with the gate that locks, you cant even tell they are on, unless you're looking because they fit inside. I filled mine with sand, and then added water. I think these are definitely worth the money compared to headache of sand bags, or jugs. They are built specifically with steps in mind, however the multi-purpose just takes the cake! Highly reccomend!

You know those big 3 gallon pvc jugs they sell at the hardware store that you fill with sand to weigh down your stairs? These are much, much better. Those jugs are really thin and get brittle from the UV rays of the sun. Then they split open eventually and spill sand into your pool. These are much thicker than those jugs and they offer more options when it comes to where to place them. I have them attached to the sides of my stairs with the velcro straps they come with and that is much more convenient thank hanging some big, bulky jugs from ropes underneath the stairs or just setting them on the steps. When I started filling the first one up with sand, I didn't think it would hold all the sand that was in the jug but it actually held a lot more. I don't know if that's because I compacted the sand with a concrete vibrator or because they are much bigger, but they are 57 pounds each when filled with sand.
