If you’re looking at these, you probably just want p90s and dont have a preference (yet). These dont suck! They sound pretty good and got me intrigued about other p90s.Give em a try!

I used one of these on an old American made Gibson Lap steel someone had robbed the pickup out of. It looks similar to the real one. Sounds pretty good. It does not match string spacing of original 1950s one and is made of less robust materials. That said it worked for Me and seems ok for the price.

The pickup seems to be flush, with the retention screws cut level to the back plate in the photo, but in reality the back plate was too long to fit within the cover, the screws that the pickups use actually stick out 1/4" above the retention screw head. I took the screws out and cut them flush with the back plate. The pickup still needed to sit upon a rubber gasket to keep the screws off the face of the guitar.

These are fine as-is, but glue everywhere makes unsuitable for non-destructive modification.Wanted to flip one set of magnets to humbuck as a pair, but disassembly was too difficult.Before teardown, I measured 7.2K and 2.95H for both neck and bridge.Bobbins are half-wound far finer than the usual 42 to fake extra resistance.There is no threaded metal spacer bar. Polepieces held in place by GLUE!Ceramic magnets break easier than the glue holding them in place.Neck and bridge are polarized same direction, so no humbuck.If only to fit and work at lowest price , these will probably do...For a cheap starter to wind yourself, save trouble and get a kit.

I had a humbucker guitar, but I wanted to try out a set of p90's so I ordered this low priced set to try. I had to do a little routing on my guitar body to make room for the extra length of the p90's. They are clearly marked as to where to place them, and are easy to wire up with the long leads provided. I was expecting farely cheap sound, however what I heard was fantastic. It was borderline boutique quality sound at a price that is unbelievably low for such quality. Amazing cleans with a bit of growl when needed. Don't expect high output, but they really sound great. The seller is also great to resolve any issues that may come up. Do yourself a solid if you want a set of p90's and grab a couple sets. For the price, it's a steal.

Great set of pickups! sweet mid-range push without over-doing it. Never harsh, or biting, just a smoothly mid-warm range and plenty of "GROWL" when overdriven. Nice characteristic blend of P-90' and Soapbar's, with a little Dano Lipstick chime even. I dig em'. I may used one on a steel guitar project, as they would be perfect for this as well. At this price buy 2 sets! It's worth it.
