I knew better when I was installing them; the screws are way too tiny to hold a boat - especially if the water moves at all! The cleats themselves are adequate for general mooring for a couple of hours, which is what I bought them for. But, you definitely need to use screws that are at least an inch longer than what comes with them. Every single one of them pulled out with the first use.
