Nylon Shroud Mounted Halyard Cleat with Stainless Steel Mounting Plate, 3/16-5-1/6 inches
This Five Oceans' shroud cleat is made of tough black nylon with a stainless steel plate to protect from corrosion. Designed to easily tie off an idle halyard, secure an awning or boom tent, or even mount on the backstay for a topping lift tie. Its very sleek and modern design makes it extremely easy to install. This cleat clamps to your shroud or backstay and gives a nice cleat for a flag halyard. It fits any shroud, wire, or rod from 3/16" to 5/16" in diameter.

When I returned to my boat in Mexico and opened the product, there was a piece missing. I don't want to damage the shroud and so I'll have to make a replacement piece.

The backing plate will just bend and snap right out of the cleat if you over torque the screw (which you want to do to make a solid connection). the screw will stick out and overall just fiddly and annoying to install. Feels super janky and I'm pretty sure the first time out will see this end up in the ocean. If not will update to 3 stars.

Installed as intended on the shroud of my sailboat. The boat didn't even leave the dock, and the metal mounting plate had popped off. As things go, of course it went into the marina...The cleat itself is nice, the mounting hardware is finicky to install and too weak. Not good value, especially for the considerable price.

This was easy to install on my shroud and I was able to put it exactly where I wanted it after a little bit of trial and error. Very convenient for cleaning off the flag.

I needed a cleat to tie off a rope in my laundry room— this fit the bill! One end is tied through the loop on this mount, and the other goes through a few screw eyes and ties onto a hanging clothes drying rack. To raise the rack out of the way, I wrap the rope around the cleat.I know this isn't what this was developed for, but it fits the bill perfectly! Strong and sturdy, no rough edges, and installed easily with my own screws.
