This is not a 40 series - it is a 30 series and is much less expensive than a 40,A 40 series IS NOT asymmetrical.

Nice HD plate, used it on my 420cc Predator engine. Had to change out the red for the green spring.

I'm not a newbie im a fabrication specialist, have built many things with 30 series, but now using this 40 series the driver continues to gets stuck engaged almost causing client to get into accident. Will contact seller and update my review after resolution.Update no response yet regarding the design flaw in this. The belt slips, bangs, and it's because of the Pully alignments. One Pully must be flipped but can't be since the shaft is not long enough that comes with the kit. Theres a video on you tube describing the issue. The belt starts out aligned but once pulled move in and out, the belt shifts over and is no longer aligned causing slips bands aggressive julting. Still waiting for resolution before I request a return.Search for 40 series torque converter install part 1 from user Z Mac for explication of the issue I'm speaking about.Update :was sent new driver, pullys still don't line up unless you flip one around, but you can't do that because the shaft is too short....this is why you get jerky engagement with this kit.

Ummm. Don't really know what torque converter kit commentor before me bought or what engine he put it on but I bought this exact kit, bolted it directly onto a Honda GX390 per the instructions and it works perfectly and flawlessly! I did install a "stall kit" in the drive clutch wich included heavier springs and lighter rollers to engage at a much higher rpm for my application, bought separately! So unless you have a setup like his, you'll be in good shape with this kit!

Doesn't seem as poor quality, but most small engines rotate counterclockwise, and thisT converter has positively wound spring on the driven pulley. You Will have to take apart tge driven pulley and modify the red spring reversing it to become negatively wound. The red spring that cones with T converter, them reds are all weak springs. You could stretch the spring, and also bend forward like, the last 1.5 inch length of the spring ends. All that adds to the spring stiffness. Also use different hole to wind the spring, so you can achieve more stiffness that way too. All in all this product seems ok, but, if you have counterclockwise rotation engine, it will make you do some work, and figure things.Yellow negatively wound spring from comet is best solution

As mentioned in some of the other reviews I had to switch out the spring on the driven clutch for the "reverse" spring. I tried it with the spring the came preinstalled and it almost destroyed the belt immediately. I have this installed on a predator 420 with a stage one kit. I also installed the 2600 stall kit from gopowersports. Since I switched the spring everything has been working fine. The backing plate seems to be well built and should be a good product, just wish it came with the other spring installed first as some people may struggle with trying to change them without the proper tools.
