Received 50 stainless tension springs 1/4x 2 3/4(slightly magnetic; they didn't jump to the magnet last the last order of clips) Thank you for having the product advertised. The form seems to be consistent thru out all 50 stainless clips. If I run into any problems during installation I will come back and up date.(I don't anticipate any problems.)

Needed several replacement clips, these were same size and function as original missing/rusty clips. Worked for my windows. 50 is plenty for the money, my local store wanted 2 for $5, rip off.

I purchased these screen tension springs to refurbish 20 year old window screens. (I re-used the frames, and set out to replace only the tension springs and corners.) They fit fine in 3/4" wide by 5/16" thick aluminum frames. After reading some of the negative reviews stating that these springs were flimsy and even break, I was a bit concerned about purchasing them. But I went ahead, and I did not find any of these problems. But what I did find is that these springs are: 1) a little heavier gauge and a bit stiffer than the original springs, 2) have a larger radius (9/16" from the flat) than the original springs (which have a 7/16" radius). (The product diagram shows the radius to be 0.8mm or 0.3 inch (approx. 5/16"), but this is not correct.) (See the 2nd diagram.) This is an important dimension for a good fit. In my case, the window groove that the springs are fit into is 7/16" deep. While the 1/8" difference does not seem significant, combining this with being a bit stiffer requires more force to install the window screens in place. (But, if your current window screens are a loose fit, this larger radius might be beneficial to you.) I started out bending each spring to flatten it out a little. But after completing a few screens, and not being happy with the fit (and the tension), I stopped replacing the springs and stayed with the original springs which were only slightly corroded. If you are assembling new window screens and are able to size the frames to accommodate these larger springs, these work well, and they are a great value. But if you are repairing existing screens, note that the additional size and stiffness of these springs makes them a bit more challenging to fit into a vinyl window in my case.

This is a very common product you will want for screen mesh replacements. Often when replacing some parts on the screen, you’ll see that a screen has a broken or missing clip. Without these clips when you’re putting in the screen, it doesn’t stay as secure in the window. These clips allow you to easily secure it in the window frame and pull it out when you want. I noticed sometimes the metal piece gets pushed off to the side and all you need to do is just realign it and it will fit good. Putting this on you want to make sure you put the metal piece in the corner and also the tabs on first and then you’ll put the screen mesh on and lastly you’ll roll on the rubber spine
