If you've got a Napoleon gas grill, these work great for having a flat top grill capability. I have 2 of these and will run the grill half grate and half griddle or with both griddles on for full coverage. The half and half options allows me to grill onions and peppers for fajitas while I grill the chicken on the grate side. I never use the side with the grooves. I can only imagine how hard that might be to clean. Just take time to season this because it is cast iron. It will take several cooks with oil/grease to get it conditioned for non-stick. You can get a headstart by spreading Crisco or Blackstone griddle seasoning on this griddle when heated and letting it burn off at fairly high heat. It will start building a film on the surface and will help you season the griddle faster and prevent rusting.

I plan to use this griddle to make mongolian barbecue on my natural gas Charbroil infra-red barbecue grill located in my backyard.The griddle is smoother than I thought, and appears to be pre-seasoned, with quality probably equal to other major brands such as Lodge. As with any cast iron cookware, you must keep it coated with a thin layer of oil to prevent rust.This griddle does not cover the entire grilling area; however, after reaching the highest temperature possible, it should do a good job with searing vegetables, noodles, and tofu. It should also hold a high temperature, even with some tossed water for steaming.If I have any disappointments, I will circle back and update this review. Otherwise, this is a solid purchase!!

I got this because hey I like to use my grill as much as I can, it helps keep the house cooler.So I like that this has two different sides, one "grilling" side that I would use if I want to add grill marks to certain proteins. Having a Flat cook side is awesome for cooking breakfast foods, such as eggs, bacon, pancakes etc.The Build Quality is Okay, but I noticed scrapes on mine, I'm not sure if this was panted, or if it was some coating, but it was noticeably scratched off in some places right out of the package. I'm being picky on this aspect because this is not a cheap item, this is double the amount I would expect to pay for an item such as this even from Big name brands.I wont know about longevity or how durable it is until its been used for awhile, I will report back if I come across any quality issues beyond what I stated above in regards to the scratched up finish. I do wish I knew what Kind of finish or "seasoning method" that was used on this, but it does not state that anywhere. it just says " Black coating".

Excellent two sided griddle top that fits on top of one side of the grills existing grates. One side is flat and smooth the other has groves for char marks. Very heavy and solid metal.

I just got a new Napoleon grill and wanted to add a griddle plate so I could have more cooking options on the grill. With the griddle I can make smash burgers, bacon, eggs, vegetables, etc. Researching the internet I found that many backyard grilling “masters” say a griddle plate is a must have accessory.I am very pleased with this plate. The cast iron reversible griddle plate is perfectly sized for Napoleon grills. The 17-3/4" x 13" size drops right in on the grate ledge. I can use it either on top of and over the grates or remove one side of the grill’s grates and replace that side with the griddle plate giving me two cooking surfaces.The heavy weight (12 pound) cast iron will hold the heat well. Being cast iron it should definitely be seasoned before initial use and after deep cleaning. You basically apply high smoke-point cooking oil to the plate and heat it at around 400 degrees for about an hour. This process puts a coating on the cast iron like a non-stick surface.The option of having two sides – flat or wave ridges – is also really nice. The wave ridges on the reverse goes perfect with the Napoleon Iconic WAVE™ style cooking grids.

I bought one of these a while back and ended up loving it so much I picked up a second one so I can run them side by side. It's a perfect fit for my Napoleon Prestige 500. You can lay them on top of your grill grate (the wavy side of the griddle fits perfectly on top of the wavy grill grates), or my preferred method of just removing the grill grate and dropping in the griddle in its place (it's the same size). The griddle is reversible. I prefer the classic flat side, but the wavy lines are cool for some things.

This is a fantastic add-on to your Napoleon grill. I'm not using the grates as a full-time replacement for my griddle but these work great and require far less cleaning and maintenence. If space is a challenge, you'll really be happy with this item.The product is of good value and should last a long time with proper care.

I use this while camping with either my two burner propane grill (generic Coleman) or over the fire. I have had good success in both cases. Although, when using it with a grill that it wasn't sized for, be aware there are three holes for grease/oil to drip through - so be mindful of where that is going.
