It actually worked! Made it much easier to administer a pill, and avoids having to get creative about hiding the pill inside a treat or food then having the cat avoid that food. I think i've soured that cat to some of her favorite foods by putting pills in them. I'm sure it will learn there's a pill coming in this thing quickly enough, but even so i'd rather have it avoid this syringe than avoid the food. The only think i worry about is if the soft silicone pill holder tip might fall off and end up doing a tour of duty through an intestime. Each syringe comes with two of these soft silicone pill holder tips, so i'm sure the manufacturer might have had the same thought. One star off for the concern, but hasn't been an issue yet.As a bonus, the plunger of the syringe has a rubber gasket to seal against the syringe barrell, so it can also be used to deliver liquids if you cut off the extra tip protrusion from the plunger. It's less than ideal for delivery of liquid medications: it may leave too much residual dead volume inside the syringe after delivery, and there are no gradations to show how much you've picked up, but in a pinch it can also be used for liquid medications. For water it's good enough, no gradations needed, and liquid medication aften comes with its own syringe or measurement and delivery method anyway.
