Functionalized they are better quality than you would get for some other cheap knock off. However, keep in mind. These are really short and really design only for a 2 x 4. I did have difficulty with One not fitting into my impact which is fine. I just used my drill instead.

The 6PCS Auger Drill Bit Set includes six sizes: 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1", and 1-1/8", for use on hardwood, softwood, and plastic. The bits come with a hex shank that makes them compatible with quick-change systems and impact drivers, which is a convenient feature for drills and drill drivers. For occasional use, these bits perform decently. They can handle light to moderate drilling tasks, especially for DIY projects or casual woodworking. However, they may not be the best choice for heavy-duty, or professional work. The build quality is average, and while they get the job done, they may struggle with tougher materials over time. The holes I drilled were not clean at all.. The bits will overheat easily and tear as much as drill. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option for VERY infrequent use, this set could meet your needs. But for regular or intensive use, you might want to invest in a more durable, higher-quality set.

I'm both a graduate degree'd engineer who greatly appreciates well made tools and also the owner of a handyman business who uses his tools to daily to earn a living. A major focus of my business is custom carpentry creations I fabricate in my home shop. With that as background ....I only just received these drill bits, but tested them by drilling three 1" holes in wood using my Milwaukee M18 Fuel drill. Two of the holes are through a 6" wide 1/2" thick pine plank and 1 is through a 4" wide 1" thick stick of finger jointed pine. Of those 3 holes 2 split the wood, as shown in one of my photos. The hole that didn't split the wood has rougher sidewalls and more "blow out" on the back of the cut than expected. I drilled all three holes as carefully as possible, but the screw tips on these bits pull the bit into the material very quickly -- too quickly for good control and a smooth cut. Even at this low price point ($18.99 at the time of this review) I expected better performing, though perhaps not very durable, bits. The performance of these bits is poor enough, and potential damage to projects great enough, that I don't plan to use them further.

First, you should note that these are short drill bits. For being auger bits you would expect them to be longer. But to be fair, sometimes you only need to drill through something relatively thin, like a three quarter inch board. An auger bit with a length of 10 inches is really overkill for that. The hex shank is good because it doesn't slip in the chuck. I use these a lot because the self feed screw tip allows you to center it exactly where you want the hole to go. I think that these perform much better than hole saws and definitely better than spade bits. Because they're large bits, I generally don't drill at full speed. For utility bits, I think they're good. I do wish they were shipped though in a case that could be reused instead of a blister pack that's disposable.

I ordered these auger bits because I like the impact-ready hex driver and compact design for close-in work. The bits are sharp, and make nice sharp holes if you can manage to get them into your driver.Half of the bits in the set had issues fitting into my impact driver. I was able to seat one after a bit of wiggling, but the other two required filing and one of those needed more file work than I was willing to give at the time. They're decent bits but be prepared to put some work into them. I also wish they came with a case or organizer to keep them in good condition.

I used these to drill some holes in joists and studs for some wires. They made quick work of it and the short shanks allowed me to get in some tighter spaces. But, they did get pretty hot after a couple of holes. As with most tools, it’s not just about efficacy when you open the package, but longevity; and I can’t speak to that on these bits. Time will tell though, and I will update if they are either notably impressive or disappointing.
