This flexible steel curve is very nerve-wracking to use due to how much tension it can have with simple wingnuts as locking mechanisms, I’ve had it unfurl itself violently a few times, once from just cutting the zip ties it comes with since a bunch of the wingnuts were loose or had fallen off, and a few other times when I unscrew the wrong wingnut while trying to make the curve I want. It can hold the curve once you have everything screwed down, but it takes a long of time and patience. The material itself is just very sharp and requires using work gloves or the included gloves, though the included ones started to unravel due to poor quality, and itched quite a bit.I think with the right modifications, this could have been made a lot safer and easier to hold and handle, with push locks and rounding off the sharp edges but oh well.It does hold a curve once you get it right, but it just takes so much time, effort, and a lot of worry trying not to get cut by this thing that I don't think it is worth it.

This tool will work when you need to reproduce complex curves on a project. It is larger than I expected. I think for most of my projects something a bit smaller would have been a better choice for me. The surface face on this tool is very flexible, so you can recreate some very curvy features. There are some sharp edges so the seller included a pair of cut resistant gloves, which is a nice touch. The gloves are a bit small so if you have giant sausage fingers you might need to source your own gloves. I think the only thing I was disappointed in is to tighten the fasteners to hold the shape you need tools. There is a butterfly nut on one side but the other side turns freely so a wrench or pliers is needed to snug the nut in order to hold the shape.

The flexible form is a really neat idea allowing you to layout patterns/curves on a piece of wood to trace as well as copy from one work piece to another. The strip is fairly thin and some tight curves might have a sharper than expected corner to them. The strip itself is very sharp and should really only be handled with gloves on and probably even eye protection due to the sharp corners. The system that locks the curve in place relies on a system of bolts and thumb screws that spin freely making them hard to tighten properly without using both hands.

This will be an amazing tool to whip out the next time I have a large curve to layout. The linkage is a little clunky as two of the nuts had come loose(first one on both ends) and images of finding all of them coming undone flashed through my mind. The chances of this happening are practically nil, but nonetheless, it could be a bit of a tangly nightmare. It's a great size for working with sheet goods and should cover almost any curve on a sheet in two moves, three at the most. I have had instances, not very often, that this would have been handy to have, but none on the horizon. This could be the kind of tool that makes you adapt to it. Curves incoming!

I got this to use for one project where I was having to duplicate some custom cut curves on some signs we are replacing and it honestly saved the day. I've never used something like this before, but once we got the hang of the setup and positioning, it was a lifesaver. We were not able to remove and take down the old signs, so we had to try and duplicate the hand cut curves on the fly, and this made it almost effortless. So glad we now have this in our tool box. Not something I would need to use on a constant basis, but knowing it's there it will get used again!

Got this Steel Curve Template for a project I wanted to do that required a unique shape. Other flexible templates require you to screw into your project to hold it in place, and this one didn't seem to need that because of the wingnuts and sliders that hold it into place. However, this template turns out be a nearly impossible pain to work with. You need a wrench to hold the bolt in place (not provided) so you can actually tighten the wingnut tight enough so that the sliders don't slip under the pressure of the bends in the steel. Also, it is hard to get a good grip on the template with the gloves they provide, but if you don't use the gloves you run the risk of cutting your hands because the metal band is sharp. It's a cool design but not any fun to work with.

I do a lot of wood projects and needed something to duplicate some large curves for some work in the house. This curve template was great at making multiple cuts in plywood exactly the same. It is big, though, so if you want something for small projects, this won't work. I did replace the wing nuts with star knobs that are easier to work with. That's the only improvement I can think of. They do include a pair of cotton gloves because the edges are kind of sharp. You do need to be a little careful. It's nothing a small file didn't fix to round off the edges and corners. Overall, I great addition to my tool collection. I highly recommend it if you need to duplicate large curves in plywood or other sheets goods.

I am a carpenter and general woodworking, I knew that I had to have this for my shop. I got the longer version, as I also do some work with boats and figured it could be helpful for making frames/bulkheads.The idea is solid, but this device needs some more refinement. The locking mechanisms are simply wing bolts with hex nuts. When trying to tighten the wingbolt down, the nut just spins. Mine did come with a bag of wingNUTS and hex head bolts, but this doesn't really solve the problem. I will fix this shortcoming by replacing the hex head bolts with carriage bolts and nylock wingnuts. This will keep the nuts from falling off and allow one handed tightening.I will update this review with photos when I do the upgrade.

I am into woodworking, so I was looking forward to this tool. I thought it could be very handy to have on hand. The tool itself it just okay. Not terrible, but not high quality. Just low cost materials and not made the best. Plus the metal is on the sharp side, worry about getting cut on this.Worst part, there are NO instructions in the box. Heck, not even a thank you for giving them a try. To me, it's like they don't care about their customers. Granted, it's not impossible to figure out, but gee, least show you care and show your customers how to use the product they purchased from you.It also comes with a bag of hardware, but since there is nothing in the box, I have no clue what it is for. It's okay, little pricey, and would not be my first choice. I leave it up to you.

I gave this a 5 star rating because it does what it says and is easy enough to adjust as you need it. I got it for my husband to use for woodworking and he doesn't think it is worth the time to use it to draw curves. If you are someone who struggles with drawing evenly it would probably be something you would use.
